So I paid for our renewal last week and today in the mail I received green will call tickets to be redeemed for our passes when we go. I thought our actual AP's are supposed to be mailed out? I am now assuming I am incorrect? Does it matter if we are not going until December?

You cannot buy live APs anywhere but at the parks. Any renewal or new pass purchased ahead of time will be in the form of a voucher that must be redeemed at the parks (or DTD). Your AP use year does not begin until you turn in the voucher and get your actual AP. It doesn't matter when you renew vs when you redeem the voucher.

huh. so let's say you purchased and then used your AP for, say, Sept. 2009 through August 2010. then if you purchased the renewal and got the vouchers for them but didn't visit using those passes til Dec. 2010, then those passes are good from dec. 2010 through nov. 2011? and you still get the reduced AP price that DVC owners get??

Nope, the renewed AP is going to have pretty much the same 'dates' the original pass had...if your AP expired on Aug 31, 2010 and your sent in a renewal payment and got a voucher to be handed in, your expiration date would be August 31, 2011. It doesn't matter when you turn in that voucher. If you aren't going until Dec '11, it may be worth your while to not renew and to just get a brand new AP when you are there in Dec..that way you don't lose 3 months on the passes.

Sorry, I misspoke- I wasn't thinking renewal procedures in my head when I answered. If you use the renewal rate and renew online or by phone, you do get a voucher that must be redeemed for a live AP. However, no matter when you redeem it, the renewal AP's start date is remains the same- one year from the day the previous AP expired. Sorry for the confusion.

Thank you for the answers! I almost did not renew but since they were still offering the 15 months for 12 it made since for us. We will go twice before they have to be renewed again.

Now I just cannot lose the green cards until our trip!! :rotfl:

When I renewed last year, I used "will call", which meant I did not get the vouchers in the mail, which saved the mailing fee. I just went to a ticket window and got my actual AP when I got to WDW.
