How long does it take first thing in the morning to rent a stroller? We can get free ones b/c we have the Disney Visa, but I don't want to tie up a lot of time renting the stroller. We're debating whether to rent or bring our own. We're flying and are bringing a toddler car seat, so a stroller would add one more thing to carry. Any input would be helpful.

Well when we were there we weren't renting a stroller but everytime we walked by the rent a stroller the lineup was insane and we said how thankful we were that we didn't have to rent a stroller.

We also decided that when we do have kids we'll bring our own stroller so we didnt have to tie up our time waiting in that ridiculous line. With that being said though, someone who has actually rented a stroller may say the line moves quickly I don't know, but I do know that line was scary.

I think it depends on when you're coming-I see it's in the summer which will be busier but maybe during the week might not be so bad. The weekends will be crazy I bet and then I'd bring my own. If you used an early entry then it probably wouldn't be bad that day.
Another idea is that since I see your child is 3 maybe you wouldn't have to get one right away but wait an hour or so till things slow down and then come back?
You could always go buy a cheapy from Target or something if you didn't want to bring one on the plane and leave it when you left.

During our last visit I was a bit frustrated that the stroller rental (outside of the gates at the time) wasn't open prior to park opening, so you couldn't get a stroller and be one of the first inside the park.

Later during our visit, they moved the stroller rental back inside the gates, and it was much easier. However, we always decided to grab a stroller later in the day and let our 4 year old walk a bit or we carried her when needed. This also helped us avoid lines.

When using your Disney Visa make sure you have photo id (one that matches the name on the card). They are insisting on seeing this now.

We were debating this... if we used a cheapo umbrella stroller it wouldn't have a canopy. Is the front of the park the only place to rent strollers?

Last year we rented strollers every single day, free also. After returning from nap we got another one. The line was NEVER a problem! Not once! I guess it depends on the crowd, huh? :confused3 We were there first week in March.

I think they rent them at Startraders in Tomorrowland as well (near monorail).

Where are you staying? We had stayed at the DLH when our kids were smaller. It wasn't too bad to the monorail into DL, but the walk back at night if you were coming out the frontgate, or coming from California Adventure was really hard without the stroller. We had to carry sleeping children a pretty long way.

When we were there in October, we arrived to get in when DL opened, and there was never much of a line, maybe 5 min. at the most. I quess it depends on how quick you get in, and how busy the park is.

Yep that is one major reason I do not rent!! Why waste precious park time each day when I can bring my own and pass the line right by!

I am just worried with flying that we'll have too much to handle with a three year old, luggage and his car seat to add on a stroller, although with a stroller he can ride in it until we get to the gate....

we've never had a problem with the stroller lines. we'll be getting our free rental in May for our 3 y/o.

I think renting the stroller is so worth it, even if there is a wait. However, even at busy season, I have never waited more than 5 or 10 minutes the most. Especially if you are flying to get there. There is too much to carry on the plane. It will be worth waiting in line.

We've never had long waits to get a stroller. Never more then 10 minutes, usually less then 5. Someone mentioned rentals at star trader in tomorrow land. They do rent them there. You can also get a replacement one there if you need one. You need to go into the back area, where the star wars merchandise/ exit from Star Tours is. Ask at the regisiter. They will go in the back and get one from you. This location is not available during early entry, as the stores are not open at that time.

Are the strollers in good shape? Can my 4 year old sleep in it comfortably?
Does anyone have pictures?

Thanks -

:):)

The strollers are only free if you have a Disney Visa. Otherwise, I think they are $8 for the day.

My 4 year old thought it was comfy. It doesn't recline, but it cradles, like a hammock, so most kids can fall asleep pretty easy in it. Yes, they keep them in good shape, if you don't like the condition of the one you get, exchange it for another.

My kids were 4 and 7 when this picture was taken. The 7 year old was a bit big for it, but still rode pretty comfortably. We dont typically rent her a stroller. Can't remember why she was in that one. LOL
