I'm still relatively new to this board, but my husband and I are still college students. Lifelong ones really... I'm 21 and he's 23. We should both be finished by now!! LOL.
He is getting his degree in Art Education. He is very talented, and I think an Art internship would be perfect for him to help finalize his degree and add some credit to his resume.
I currently work full time as a recruiter with a high volume staffing agency for restaurant/retail/hospitality managers of ALL levels. I plan to go through a few HR certifications and to join the national HR association. (looks good on a resume) The only problem is I would love to do an HR internship through Disney, but my current degree field is Psychology/Study in Sexualities (it's going to change though, I just can't decide what to change it to).
I'm not sure how these internship programs really work. My goal is to be a nationally recognized recruiter for about 20 years or more and have my degree to fall back on if I decide to no longer pursue recruiting/HR. I don't want to pursue Pyschology anymore, maybe as a minor ( I have enough hours) because the career choices are limited. I don't know if I should pursue marketing, business, French (I love it, but don't want to teach it), criminal justice, I just can't decide. If I'm ever to finish my degree I better make a decision right?
I suppose my main question was do I have to be pursuing a Degree in HR to qualify for an HR internship? Are those really offered?
In the case of my husband, what does he need to qualify for an art internship? He is very talented in drawing, sculpting, and he's working on the area of painting. I know that he needs to take a few classes in graphics though because of our new art technology. Do we need to be full-time students? What are the expectations? Are they paid internships? I have so many questions. I just don't know where to begin.
Why do you want to do a Disney Internship? What did you apply for? So on and so forth. Please explain... LOL.
Thanks,
Gabrielle
