I made reservations for a lunch at the castle. I had to give a credit card to hold it and was told I have 24 hrs before the reservation to cancel. I just received my credit card statement and was charged the full price. I thought the card was just a hold and I could pay that day.

No, they changed this awhile back. You pay upfront when you make the ressie now. If you cancel within a certain time frame you will be refunded.

If this is the new policy then I shouldn't have to bring anything showing this was paid for.

is this the same if you are on the dining plan. give a credit card number and you will be charged?

I had a CRT ressie scheduled for March which I had to cancel. I still haven't seen the credit for that ressie show up on my bank statement.

Somehow, by some miracle, I managed to make another ressie for April. I had assumed they would simply transfer the payment from the old ressie to the new one. Wrong! I got a brand spanking new CRT charge show up on my account.

I called them again today and I was told the old charge doesn't automatically transfer to the new ressie. Instead what they do is charge you all over again for a new CRT ressie. :headache:

I was told I would see the credit for the old ressie according to my credit card billing cycle. I put it on a debit card. How long does it take for a credit to show up on a debit card account? :scared:

Wow, that stinks. How long has it been? I can't comment exactly as we never have canceled CRT, but on our last trip we had paid in full when free dining came out. We called and had the price adjusted and got the difference back in under 48 hours. I think if it has been a while I'd call and talk to a supervisor.

I made an ADR for CRT and I'm on the dining plan. Accidentally the CM had my CC charged adn she tried to reserve it at that instant but it went through.

They told me it would take 1-2 billing cycles for a reversal. I do not know why. I kept calling and they kept telling me the whole 1-2 billing cycle thing.

Finally after two billing cycles I called them adn they said "Oops it wasn't done correctly." Yeah right. I call BS. I had my reversal within 2 days. If all it took was a click to reverse it it should take 2 days no matter what.

I just think they like to hold onto the money hoping you forget. :rolleyes1

I would never wait more then one billing cycle for a credit to a credit or debit card....IMHO.

If it takes longer then that...I would always call and escalate to the financial dept.

From my experience....credits appear on debit cards within 3 days.

I was in touch with my bank. I forget all of the specifics but after the one billing cycle we were going to start the process with my bank to take care of it.

I called before the two billing cycle mark (just checked my records) and told them my credit card would be filing a claim and then she said the whole it was an accident, etc.

^^^It's been four days. Since it went on a debit card and not a credit card, I think I'll call again and ask to speak to a supervisor.
