Haven't flown in a while and wondered if I could paid for the airfare for my children with my Credit card and not be going with them? Someone told me today that the person's name on the credit card has to match the ID of someone in the party.

Also, when we put in 1 adult and 2 children online as the number going, the price comes up the same for all 3. Is the fare the same for children ages 9 and 12 as it is for the adult?

This is on US Air going to Las Vegas (sadly not Disney) from North Carolina.

Thanks for your help!

Not true. My SIL pays for tickets for our kids all the time to go visit. There is no such thng as a child fare anymore.

It used to be they would sometimes ask to see the credit card used to pay for the ticket but I haven't had that happen in years.

I would not book child fares unless the discount is significant - otherwise you may loose the ability to check in online and the airline may ask to see the childs BC to prove eligibility for the child fare.

Long time ago some airlines would require you to produce the original cc'd at check in - I haven't had this happen in over 10 years !

Book all the fares as "adult internet" fares and pay however you wish. Make sure you enter the information of anyone 18 and over exactly as it appears on their license.

At the airport all you need is the confirmation # and a valid ID for everyone over 18.

If you haven't flown in a while I recommend visiting the TSA . gov website for the updated information and restrictions on what you can bring in checked and carryon bags and what to expect at screening.
