Hi again,

I was wondering about, mainly breakfast places, as my DH doesn't eat breakfast, he will just have a glass of juice. But my dd and I eat breakfast.

I wanted to do a few buffets or some character breakfasts. What is the policy of going to one of these places and not eating. We'd be eating, but he would not. Is this possible? Or will they charge him anyway? I don't want to schedule these if he'll get charged $15+ dollars and not eat. That would be a huge waste.

Anyone have some experience with this one?

Yes, he would still be charged--- I am not sure if it would be the entire amount, but I have heard that they charge an entertainment fee. I would let him sleep in that day or go to a park he likes, you and your son go to breakfast, and meet up with him at a predetermined spot later.

LOL an entertainment fee!!! Ok does anyone know what this fee might be? If it's only a few bucks then that would be fine, but otherwise we'll be skipping breakfasts this time.

This is his first and last trip to WDW, he is not a Disney fan. I'm hoping to convert him, but I'm 95% sure that won't happen. LOL We'd still go to CRT and he'll just have to eat, but I'd skip the others, we've done lots over the years, so it won't be a huge deal to just grab a light breakfast someplace. Plus we're doing a lot of character dinners. But I had 2 others in mind and I was hoping they would just charge him for his juice or soda, since we'd be paying for the full meal.

Try giving disney dining a call, I'm sur they could let you know specifically what the policy is here and the price as well. I think I'd just let DH go off and do something he might enjoy more--golf, a theme park, DQ,??? rather than pay for him to NOT enjoy himself.

From posts on these boards, the ability to be changed only an entertainment fee is hit and miss. Some restaurants do it, some don't. And the ones that have done it for one DISer on one trip, another DISer reports back that they wouldn't do it for them.

Ok Update and a FYI for those wondering about this same thing. The entertainment fee is true. In the past it was only $5 for the person not eating, which would have been ok with us. But now they are charging the full price for the person not eating, this is straight from WDW dining.

They said, however, that some of the character meals will waive that fee, but most do not. You must deal with the manager of the place you are dining at to try and get that fee waived and this must be done in person, the day of the meal.

My hubby agreed to eat one morning, so this will be ok, we're just doing Cindy's this trip. We've done many others and always had a wonderful meal and time, so only doing one this trip isn't a big deal. We have lots planned for dinner.

And since this will probably be my hubby's one and only trip to WDW I figure next time I can go back to my normal routine. :p :p :p

Thanks for giving me a heads up on this!!

Hope you have a good time. When we did Storybook Princess Breakfast, my husband was not interested, so he went elsewhere, DD and I went to the breakfast and had a blast, and met up with him later. Everyone was happy!

So, if he doesn't do breakfast, what about scheduling a character breakfast for the last seating? Then it would be almost more of a brunch/early lunch. Or, is it that he doesn't care for the typical breakfast food and that plan wouldn't work either?

He doesn't care for the breakfast foods, not an egg or bacon eater. Since we've been married I think I've seen him eat breakfast under 20 times in the past 3 years. He does like muffins and danish, but that's it and it only eats those on occassion. The only time he ate eggs and bacon was on our honeymoon in Jamicia, he thought they had the best food there.

I can tell you tho, if there was a Cinn-a-Bon down there, he'd be in heaven. :p :p :p

We're still planning on the one big character breakfast, then the rest are just simple places, where my little one and I can get a decent breakfast and he can just have a glass of juice.

I made up for the lack of character breakfasts via dinners. I'm bound and determined to turn him into a Disney junkie like we are. :p :p :p

Have you thought of doing 1900 Park Faire for breakfast? They have many, many more options than strict eggs and bacon. They have a fantastic fruit bar, different types of potatos, waffles, cereal both hot and cold, as well as the typical eggs and bacon... and the design your own omelette bar is simply out of this world!

Don't give up hope on your hubby. I grew up going to WDW and could live there. My DH's first trip was in 2000 and received mixed reviews from him. (we went with my parents & brother). We went again last year and I didn't think he would want to return for a long time. I have a conference next year in Orlando, so I was planning to take our daughter since he wasn't real thrilled about going. Imagine my surprise when he came to me the other day and said he wanted to go with us!! Our DD was watching Dumbo and he said he realized she wouldn't be young forever and he couldn't miss out. There's still hope.

Cindy's has a "healthy"platter that has fruit, muffins etc. on it. Perhaps he will enjoy that. If not watching his DD with the princesses will be worth the cost of the meal.

eeyore- Yes, we are doing 1900 our last morning. We're going to try and get a later setting and then eat and head to the airport. I think this would be a nice way to end the trip!

slp87- Oh I'm not giving up on him just yet. Last year I tried to get him to go on our 3 week road trip and he wasn't having any of that! LOL When we got back and he saw the videos, like with her seeing Pooh and Eeyore for the first time, she ran to them and clung to them and wouldn't let them go, we had to pull her off them, I think he was disappointed he wasn't there to see that in person. So I've got my fingers crossed he'll convert. LOL

Jordan's Mom - I think he will. When we went they offered a lot of fruit and danish, so I think he'll probably just have that. She talks about the Princesses non stop, her room is done up with that theme and I think when he sees her with them, he'll see what I'm talking about and why it's worth the extra $$$.

Well back to working on my dining plan, which I'll be posting for everyone to look at and tell me where I need changes! LOL

My Hubby is not much of a b-fast eater (My favorite meal if I am not cooking it;) ) We had breakfast one morning at BOMA and he loved it!! Mind you it is NOT a character breakfast but the waiters and waitress were fantastic and they sang some wonderful african songs for the children. The food is very, very different (lots of breads that are not sweet and there was pork and I believe there was some sort of beef. There was plenty of "regular breakfast foods also" (eggs, bagels etc) They also had some great juice (A papaya mix if I remember correctly) and some very interesting african coffee. If you can find a menu check it out. It was a beautiful morning. The restaurant and the hotel are beautiful and it was very relaxed. We wandered around the hotel and the gift store and just relaxed and took our time. We really enjoyed the experience. I am sure there is a link somewhere that has the menu posted on it.
