This may be a little hard to explain...but here goes. A friend and I have RT air booked from PVD-MCO. I would like to leave the flight down alone, but change the return flight to one later in the day. The later flight is a little more expensive. I know how to change a flight on Southwest's website but my question involves paying for it. I have some credit I want to use up. If I change a flight, will the entire cost of what I have already paid stay as one payment? Then will I be able to add on three other forms of payment - using 2 credits and a credit card for the difference? Or will the payments of the original flights be broken down into any credits and credit card that were used to pay for those flights? I hope this makes sense and someone has an answer :)

I'm not sure if this will answer your question, but I changed our departure flights with SW for our upcoming trip. I had 2 tickets on a 7:40am flight on Monday, November 22nd, but the visions of future meltdowns my daughter might have after getting up at 4:30am took their toll. I changed it to a 1:40pm flight on Sunday, November 21st.

The prices had gone up but only by $11 per ticket. All that I had to do was pay the $22. I imagine how you pay the price difference is up to you.

I imagine if you have that many credits you want to use, or you want to get credits, you might have to cancel your original return flight and book a new one. I only did a change. I didn't officially cancel and rebook.
