Weve only purchased via resale in the past. However, we are now looking for a small add-on, around 50 points and are now looking for direct purchase. Does Disney still do the "double points"?

i.e our UY is Sept. Would we still get the current UY points 2011 (that will need to be banked) plus the 50 points 2012 coming this sept?

this is not really a "bonus" - just how the contracts work.

but yes, you would get current pts as well as next year's pts if you buy direct and DVC has inventory of your requested home resort and UY month.

There is no such thing as double points. If you bought Sept UY points, you would be in the 2011 UY, not 2012. So you would get the 2011 points you were entitled to get. You'll pay dues on them if you purchase directly from Disney, too.

The dues will be prorated based on the purchase date. And DVC will allow you to bank the points even if you are well beyond the banking deadline. So while "double points" definitely isn't the correct term, there are some pros to adding on direct.

Just to clarify, the dues that would be owed at this point would be 2012 MF's on the 50 points. And, because we are near the end of January, someone would pay only 11 months worth of dues.

Since dues are based on calender year and not UY, they are based on when you become an owner of those points and the points themselves. For example, someone with a Sept UY who bought in November, would be getting the same 50 2011 UY points, but would have paid dues for 2 months of 2011 because that is when they became owner of the contract.
