How much does it usually cost for a child to make one? I'm going to DL in three weeks and my DD 4 wants to do it. How long does the process usually take?
The lowest priced bear is $10....and they go up.
You can look ahead at their website to get an idea.....but not all the animals will be available in all the stores.
DtD does have unique clothes too....very fun. I buy things every time we go.
To make an animal, of course, depends on how many people are doing it.
It doesn't take very long to actually stuff it.
If you go to their website you can get a general idea of how much the animals, etc. cost. I would say they average about $14-$22 per animal, shirts cost around $5, on up to outfits that cost $12 and up. Then you have shoes, accessories, animal sounds, etc. It could get crazy if you let it.
When I take my girls we usually spend about $30 per animal. They usually just get an outfit or shirt/pants. If they want additional clothes or accessories they have to use their own money (or get grandma to buy them )
Renee and Meriweather are right - go online and do your research so you aren't surprised and then set a limit.
Also, if it looks crowded and they have the upstairs open - beeline up there. They have a whole second store layout and stuffing line up there and it will have a shorter line!!!
We spent about $40 per girl last year. We bought midline to expensive animals and full outfits with shoes. The DTD store is a must do if you want to do B-a-B because they have some fun disney costumes and it is a nicer store than the ones in most malls. Sign up on their website and they will email you deals. There are also coupons available on some other sites.
If you are staying at a hotel around the area they usually have a coupon for either $5 off or something free with purchase. It's in the area where they have all the attractions in the area. The least expensive bear is $10 but you cam get a nice and velvety one for $5 more! Have fun! My kids still remember when they made theirs and the memories that come along with that trip.
The $29.95 deal is over, but they often have some sort of deal going. I agree that you can sign up for their email list and sometimes get printable coupons. If you're figuring you'll be buying a lot of stuff from them in the future, you can also sign up for their loyalty program, which will earn you gift certificates back eventually.
