If you like to send a complain, sugestion or critic about Brazilian visiting USA, please write to the Brazilian Foreign Relations Ministry :

Ministério das Relações Exteriores
Esplanada dos Ministérios - Bloco H
CEP: 70 170-900
Brasília-DF
Brazil

Or if you have any other problems with groups visiting Disney, make sure that you write down the name of the tour agency (and the tour guide if possible) responsible and complain direct to the Disney Co. Those groups are organized by people who make a lot of money doing this and they must prevent any misbehave and misunderstand envolving brazilians during their trip in your country.

Please stop this "anti-brazilian" movement on this boards before it goes too far. This is difamation and not all true. Yes, we came from different country, we have MANY cultural differences but we dont deserve this kind of treatment.

Thank you for you attention

I'm sorry these posts offended you. Do you not think that there is a problem when you see this many posts? Many people at Disney have come across these tour groups and I have to say that some of the posts you have referenced are actually true. Maybe not said in the nicest way but still true.

I have been victim to them myself and I always wonder and maybe you can tell me...do people in Brazil have to wait in lines for things? I get the feeling everytime that they are not used to this and have a problem with it. Its very annoying to be waiting in line with your children and have a big group of them take over the line ahead of you.

Also do any of them speak English? It is true that the biggest "excuse" heard is about no english...it comes across as I dont know English so I am excused.

I guess what many of us have a hard time with is this big group singing, chanting all the time taking over lines and for the most part acting rudely.

Also it is possible that the dress attire is a bit more liberal in Brazil but people here dont take it too well when we see women with body parts hanging out or practically uncovered. Is this really the usual attire there?

Do these tour group companies tell these people anything about the culture here and how you are expected to act in public? I mean as far as waiting in line etc.

Please do not think I am being facetious in this post. I am genuinely curious about these things and hope you can shed some light for not just me but others.

Yes, Diane. I think there is a problem here, and it is bigger that a group of teenagers misbehaving: people in this boards are stereotyping all Brazilians by their encounters with some tour groups.

do people in Brazil have to wait in lines for things?
OH yes, I think this kind of question speaks for itself. What kind of people do you think we are? Do you think that we ALL are line cutters? Or that we are all non educated?

Also do any of them speak English?
I do.

Do every american teen dress up as Britney Spears? Or Cristina Aguilhera? Are you telling me that there is a dress code in the USA?? There is a law about it? If so, why did you not call the police when you saw "body parts hanging out or practically uncovered"??

Do these tour group companies tell these people anything about the culture here
No, most of them do not. (I´m a travel agent/student).

I am genuinely curious about these things and hope you can shed some light for not just me but others.
Thank you

Wow, my mind's changed

I agree that what you read on this board could be regarded as a stereotype of Brazilians... just like comments about whiny, bratty children, belching college students, and loud obnoxious cheerleaders and football players, drunks on PI could be considered stereotypes or generalizations. There are many people who do not conform to the above statements.

No one is saying every Brazillian is evil. I'm just saying that the 38 of them (yep, I counted!) who tried to get through with two FP for the correct time, and 36 other passes for the WRONG time, were rude, unruly, and I REALLY enjoyed watching them get caught...

make of that what you will

What I don't understand is why people let tour groups cut in front of them?

I can see maybe one or two getting pass, but a whole group. I think some of the behavior would stop if more people will speak up at the time the line cutting occurs.

When I was there in August 2001, I saw plenty of American girls half dressed.

Lety, My son and I are going to WDW June 28-July6 or 7. We are staying at All Star Sports. Do you know if any groups are scheduled to be there during that time?

Well, in the incident I was speaking of, the tour group went through the Fast Pass Line, and we watched it all from the Stand By Line at TOT. They walked through to the front of the line, and handed over the tickets, with the correct times on the top. The CM checked all of the tickets, and made all but two of them leave until their time arrived.

I knew my post would be taken wrong :-)

I was asking these questions sincerely because I really wanted to know what would cause these groups to act this way and feel they are doing nothing wrong. And its not just the teenagers, they have chaperones you know and they are just as guilty.

What are we to think when we see most of them cutting lines, professing to know no english, dressed inappropriately (although the groups usually just have the matching shirts)

I certainly was not generalizing all Brazilians but I have to tell you that these groups certainly do not give a good impression of Brazilian people.

My husband just wondered one time if they even let these teenagers know the "rules" if you will when they come here is all. I imagine going to a strange country would be weird and he wondered if they prepare them at all.

Does the cutting in line thing happen alot? I must say the three times we went I NEVER saw it happen, though I did see alot of the tour groups. I have found many of the Brazilian teens I have run into to be very cool kids. It does help that I speak Spanish fluently which is close enough to Portuguese that we communicate well. It is very neat to hear them talking about someone who they know (or assume) can't understand them then to join in. So if you think they are talking about you you might just be right. LOL As for acting like they don't speak English, I don't believe it's an act, at least not in most cases.

I can honestly say that I never had a probelm with tour groups cutting in line at Disney. If they would have i definitely would have said something. I have a little advantage here as my BIL is from Brazil and has taught me how to say some things in Portuguese. LOL!! Seriously though, I had a problem at Busch Gardens once. The group tried to cut in front of me and I stood so they couldn't get by. Some of their group was ahead of DH, DS and I. I basically told them if they didn't get in line together then they could either wait their turn or the ones that were ahead could go back behind us!!

Oh and they were from America. So it is not only Brazilians that are rude and inconsiderate!!
