? about borrowing from 2013

After seeing another thread that someone had borrowed from their 2013 use year, I have a question for all of you that really know 'the rules'.

We have a trip coming in Feb. 2012, we have multiple reservations for the trip (big family gathering). One of the rooms is our own, a studio which we wanted to change to a one bedroom. I called today to ask about borrowing from our June use year (2013) to use for Feb. 2012 and was told that it wasn't possible. Is that correct?

I know that sometimes, owner's here have a better knowledge of rules than 'some' cm's, so please let me know what you think.

That is correct. Your June Use Year runs from June 1st of one year to May 31st of the next. Therefore, your February 2012 trip actually falls in your 2011 Use Year (6/1/11-5/31/12). You could only use banked 2010 points, regular 2011 points or borrowed 2012 points for that reservation.

Yes, as the above poster said, that is correct. you can borrow your 2013 points for 2012 but only if the trip takes place after June 1st, since you have a June use year.

Everything is based on the UY that a trip happens. So, those that are borrowing from their 2013 UY, are doing so for trips that take place within their 2012 UY.

As mentioned, your Feb 2012 trip actually takes place in your June 2011 UY so the only points eligible for that trip are banked 2010 UY points, 2011 UY points, and borrowed 2012 UY points.

It can get confusing when you have a UY that straddles two calendar years, like June does.
