Hi, I just recently began to feel my baby's flutters last week. On Tuesday she was doing cartwheels, the next day, not so many, and today and hardly felt her at all. I am 21 weeks and am not sure if this is normal this early on. Plus when I do feel her, it seems like I only feel her on the lower right side. Just curious!
Thanks

If I recall, it is still early to be feeling a lot of movement. However, if you are concerned, call your doctor and at least talk to the nurse. That is what they are there for.

I was around 25 weeks, I think, when I felt the first little butterflies. Some days I would feel a lot of flutters, some days nothing, and it would also be really low in my abdomen. It wasn't until around the end of the seventh month that I would feel a lot of movement every day.

Mine too were sporatic. Even later in the pregnancy there were days where their wasn't a ton of movement.

Thanks everyone! After having 2 1st trimester m/c's I'm so paranoid!! I can't wait until July! :goodvibes

It really is the coolest feeling when you can feel your baby kick and hiccup and punch you and dig her little feet up under your ribs! I feel like I got a little bit of her personality from that--she was a wiggle worm in utero and she's still a wiggle worm now!

I am also 21 weeks (due July 24) and just started feeling the baby move last week. It is also sporadic. During my 20 wk sonogram we could see her clearly moving and kicking all over the place - but I didn't feel ANY of it. The doctor was surprised I couldn't feel it, because she was going nuts in there. I've felt a little more some days and hardly anything on other days. Sometimes it depends on how I am sitting or what I am eating, I think. Don't worry - you will start feeling more and more everyday now. Congrats!!!:cheer2:

Particularly if this is your first pregnancy to make it that far, this is totally normal. It is still early and you may not feel movements regularly until around 24-26 weeks. I do know at about 20 weeks or so I was only feeling movements every other day or so. It definitely was not regular for a few more weeks. Even then, I had very active days and not so active days. I do relate to the worries though... sadly I think after a miscarriage you never stop worrying.

I'm 36 weeks pregnant right now. My doctor told me that I shouldn't worry about consistent movement until about 28 weeks.

For where you are at, the movements sound very normal to me.

Sounds normal to me! I ended up renting dopplars with my babies - it prevented a lot of axiety!

Congrats! I'm due 2 days after you! That's what I was wondering too since at my last sono, we clearly saw her do a 360 on the ultrasound 2 weeks ago, and everytime I get a sono, they always comment on how active she is, but I never felt her until a few days ago.

Yes, I'm a whole 11 weeks further than I've ever been in a pregnancy. I notice when I wear tighter pants I can feel her more too.
You're right, the worry NEVER stops.
Thanks everyone!

I have one!! I think I OVER USE it though! I can't help it, I love hearing her heartbeat knowing that she's still alive!

I felt my baby move for the first time at 20 weeks. I've heard some people say it feels like you have gas. That rumbly in the tummy thing. That's what it felt like to me the first few times.

I feel her move a lot more now. She's most active in the evening after eating dinner (or sweets ;) ). DH was able to feel her move last night for the first time. It was while we were watching American Idol. Funny thing is that's what we were watching the first time I felt her. :)

Drink a glass of orange juice and the baby will get more active, that sugar rush you know. Poke at your stomach to get the baby moving too. It helps if you lie flat to feel the baby more. Wait until you get bigger and you can see elbows and stuff poking out. It is SO COOL!!

I'll share an AWESOMe website for you to visit - though you will become addicted - there's the best help online there - its www.babycenter.com

You can log on & talk to 100s of other pregnant moms - that are dealing with the same issues as you are. You just type in your delivery date & you can go straight to the message board of your expectant date.

Just don't fuss at me when you spend too much time on there! :rotfl:

She still has a decent amount of room to find a spot where you might not feel her. I, too, remember an u/s around 24 weeks where he was moving and grooving and I didn't fell any of it. Now, by 32 weeks, he was consistently punching me and stretching his elbows and kicking my backbone. It was quite interesting to actually be able to see a bony little elbow or knee move across my stomach. I smacked him (me) many times to get him to settle down. ;)
