? about B-Day Illuminations Cruise

HELP... I need some opinions from those who have experienced the Birthday pkg on the Illuminations Cruise.

I am paying for this cruise for my family, plus my mom, sister, niece and nephew. I am also paying extra for the birthday package for my nephew who is turning 14. My question is (and I do not want to appear cheap here, but....) I usually spend about $25.00 for a gift for him. But the birthday package is $100.00 extra. Do you think I shoud still get him a gift? Or do you think the birthday pkg. is enough. I do not know all the details of the pkg. Do they make a big deal of the birthday person? Is it enough for me to say," This is my gift to you."

I'm thinking I problably should just get him a gift too. What would you do?

We did the package in May for DH's Birthday. They put streamers and balloons on the boat and they have cake and soda and water. The cake was wonderful. Very, very, very, good.

It is up to you wether you want to buy him something. I might just give him a pin or small stuffed Mickey with a card saying that the cruise is a special gift for him for his birthday. That way he still feels like he is getting something.

I don't think you need to give him something else. But kids that age don't always understand that an event is the same thing as a tangible keepsake gift. If you're worried about that, how about a pin? There was for a while a great pin available at Yacht Club with Mickey and Minnie in a brown boat (like Breathless, which is also rented from Bayside Marina. I'm not sure if that pin is still available, but it would be a relatively inexpensive gift he could have as a keepsake of the event.
