I had been reading a thread about avoiding the parks with EMH hours but now I can't find it.....does this apply to AM or PM EMH's or both......I would think it would apply to PM since people would stay later and be tired the next morning but I'm not sure....

Each traveler is different. My DH and I do the a.m. EMH and the p.m. EMH at each park it is offered. We just are sure to take a break in the midafternoon at the resort with a swim/nap. It was funny...we took our high school graduate son and his then girlfriend in 2004, and neither one of them could make it until 2:00 a.m. at the Magic Kingdom and we were raring to go (and we were 51 and 46 at the time). We kept going and they went back to the hotel to go to sleep.

Lots of people say avoid them or just go for the am ones and then leave at noon. I have gone for the am and had a great time - just don't go to a park with an am EMH and not get there for the rope drop..... It gets crowded fast - by 11 am it is usually packed. If you got there early and got your FPs and rode everything twice already you are fine. I can't stay up late, so can't tell you about late EMH. I have gone to very busy parties (MNSSHP and MVMCP at MK, though, and just use Tour Guide Mike's plans with a little alteration and have no problems at all....

I avoid am ones, and always do PM ones, never had crowds be a problem at them.

Both.

If you are not attending morning EMH, then avoid the park with morning EMH. Even if you won't be getting there until late afternoon after the earlybirds leave, more of the fastpasses will be gone.

If you are not going to attend evening EMH, it is OK to go there early in the morning but you might want to avoid that park if you won;'t get there until mid-afternoon or later.

they went back to sleep? yeah, right.

We always do AM EMH because we like getting to the parks early to get a head start on some of the major attractions, plus it's gives us an excuse to go on them more then once.

We were in the park at open and hit every major ride/attraction in every park by 11:00, some 2x's! The crowds seem to get heavy at that time. Got a FastPass to one more ride. We then had a nice lunch (DDP) before that crowd hit at noon. Fullfilled our Fastpass and then went back to CSR for a nice afternoon by the pool.
Went to our ADR's for dinner and back to selected park for evening show/fireworks.
Now granted 7am is early, but had no lines-so payoff imo was worth it!!

If you are NOT doing the EMH than avoid the parks. The morning EMH will just make the park more crowded after regular opening. Evening EMH will make the park very crowded a couple of hours before normal closing, I would either plan on doing little things until the EMH actually starts and all the non-resort guests leave.

After staying off-site a number of times, we made sure that we checked EMH's and avoided them......one year we just by chance ran into all of them and dealt with huge crowds.

We find that when we go in the summer its best to avoid them. We prefer to just go during regular hours and we avoid whatever parks have early or late EMH on those days. Works for us!

I went round and round on this issue and decided that we're going to avoid the EMH parks on this trip. I'm going off of what I've read here and on TGM. More people will be at the EMH parks on those days, leaving the other parks less crowded, right?? We plan to be at rope drop at the non EMH parks; should be good, right??

Oh, gosh, now I'm going to revisit obsessing over this issue!

This issue has always confused me. If you don't make it to the opening of the park with the morning EMH, then why is the park more crowded later in the day? :confused3 The whole idea to the morning EMH is getting there right when the parks open. Kind of defeats the purpose if you arrive later in the day. I'm sure I am missing something here. ;)

Because the park that has AM EMH will already have more people becuase they opened one hour earlier for the onsite guests.

It seems though, from reading most of these posts that the people who come for EMH leave the park later in the day to go to another park. Shouldn't that balance it out somewhat?

I would only do EMH if you have a Hopper Pass.
Onsite Guest that don't have Hoppers will stay at the
EMH park all day and with the offsite guest adding to the Crowds
it will fill up fast.
We don't get Hoppers so we avoid the EMH parks.
We made the mistake of going to DHS (then MGM) on an EMH day
and I forgot to check the EMH day (it was jam packed)
I will never make that mistake again.

That maybe true, however based on other posts I have read that the park which has AM EMH will be the one that is most busy by 11:00 AM or 12:00 AM, for the reasons I mentioned earlier.
