Our original purchase was a resale through TTS. We didn't receive any little gifts from Disney (like hats, backpacks, etc.). We just purchased a 35 point add-on through Disney. Will we get any gifts for this add-on?

You will get a lithograph and a binder to keep your contract in but nothing else. I just did a 120 points add-on at SSR and my guide told me there is a 150 points minimum for you to receive a DVC backpack
This minimum rule makes no sense to me. Non-Members who sign up for the 150 point contract will receive a backpack and they keep the welcome gift even if they do not actually follow through on their commitment. Members who add-on does not receive the same courtesy. How much can those bags actually cost Disney?
Anyhow, my master contract was also a resale so I do not have any DVC merchandise so I asked my guide NICELY if I can get the backpack with my 120 points add-on and he told me he would try to get one I'm still waiting
Did you purchased directly through Disney or was it a resale. If you became a new member through Disney, you should've receivd one when you receive the contract package. DVC might be out of it but call you guide and he should be able to send one out to you.
DVC backpacks - blue cloth/brown leather on the bottom about 20" tall. People occassionally sell it on Ebay.

I did this a couple years ago. I chickened out before my 15 day waiting period was up but they had already sent me the backpack and litho. I got another set when I finally did join.
My friend who just joined got the beach bag so that must be the way they're going now. She said it is pretty nice.
Backpack?? I was given a DVC sholder bag which had my membership book and contract records inside of it. I've never heard anything about a backpack? I guess I missed out! Bummer!!
Okay, I guess I don't understand why a backpack or beach bag worth a few bucks should be so important after you just paid $15,000-$30,000 or more for points. I guess it is because we are all so hungry for things with the membership logo on it. When we purchased back in '97, we got a zippered shoulder bag with our doucuments in it. I still keep my DVC stuff in that bag. We also got a canvas beachbag with blue handles and a large DVC logo on one side. I LOVE this one, because it is easy to take things to the parks in. I guess I kind of wish those things were for sale to members.
