As my trip gets closer, I keep thinking of things to ask about.
I was just looking at my AP vouchers, if I wanted to go to the MK on my 1st day, do I have to go to the TTC to get them acitvated? They can't do it there at the ticket window at the MK?? :confused3

You can go to the Ticket Window at MK!

We did that on Christmas Day!

No problem!

Thanks, Scratch!
The back of my ticket mentioned the other 3 parks, but didn't mention MK only the TTC. I thought that was odd.
Thanks again!

does anyone know if you get your picture on the pass or do we have to always carry our driver license. I dont usually have my license with me.

ANY ticket window, ANY theme park. You may need photo ID to get it, but not to use it. We had to show ID, but we are Florida residents. I don't know if everybody else has to show ID. I would think so, just because of the cost of the AP.

No pictures. Instead they use a state-of-the-art biometrics fingerprint scanner which works approximately 4% of the time.

Getting the AP is easy, quick and simple. Getting in the parks with it - or behind a group of people with AP's - is none of the above!

You should carry your ID. If the scanner does not work, they can ask for ID to confirm it's your AP. All adults have to show ID when purchasing or activating an AP. They want to be sure the correct name is going on the pass, to prevent "switch offs".

Everyone with new tickets has to use the biometric scanner now, not just AP's.

what is the biometric scanner?

It's the device that Disney uses to scan a patrons index and middle finger once they have put their passes into the machine.

There are easier ways to show them your middle finger.

The bio readers usually work very well. They are very sensitive to magnets though and I believe this is what causes most of the problems. I have a magnetic money clip that doesn't affect my credit cards but wipes out my AP if it gets within a few inches of it. I've ruined 3 AP's ( was always issued a new one NC ) the last of which got zapped when I emptied my pockets and just set everything in one pile on the table. I finally tossed out the money clip.

You can get them activated at any Guest Relations Window or Ticket window at the 4 Theme parks and DTD. This is both the TTC (ticket window) and MK gate (Guest Relations). DTD has two Guest Relations offices. Also, don't forget about the International Gateway at Epcot!

Thanks! I forgot about the one at DTD. I am staying at SSR, so I could always do that the day I get there. But it may be easier to wait until the next morning and do it at the MK.

I ended up going to DTD from the airport (5pm) to get mine activated. We had an early PS at MK and wasn't sure if the ticket booths or Guest Relations would be open 1.5 hours before opening. .... you can't be late for breakfast with a princess you know!! It looked like the ticket booths were getting ready to open when we passed through the TTC at 7:30am. I think Guest Relations opened at 8am. MK opened at 9am that day. So, unless you are going extra early, like us, activating at the MK should work.

Thanks again! I think I have worked out a plan. Our 1st night won't involve a park, so I won't bother with it then. But the next day (Monday) MK is open late, so we may do some shopping at DTD anyway, acitvate them there, and then go to the MK later on in the day.
Is one of the booths on the Market Place side?

Our first park day will be the 3rd full day we're at Disney.
After brkfst at Kona (& pool hopping at Poly) we're planning on taking the monorail to MK to activate our APs in the early afternoon. I may plan late lunch at LTT. Then when we go to AK for their late night we'll be all set to go.

Do the dates on the pass actuallly start the year when you activate them or go throught the turnstiles with them for the first time? I guess IM wondering if you can acitivate your pass at Downtown disney on lets say a Monday, but not using them for the first time untill tuesday, when will the year actually start. one knows, we have to get the most out of them. Thanks in advance.

They will be dated from the time they're activated.
