?? about 2BR @ SSR or OKW

I'm looking at reserving a 2 BR at SSR or OKW for a mulit family trip. If we use the 1 BR unit and other family uses "studio" side how do the room keys work?

Would the keys open both hallway doors? It may be necessary for one family to have quiet time and wouldn't want the other family to interrupt quiet time.

The keys will open both hallway doors. If you are worried about quiet time or privacy you could have the other family lock the connecting door. If you don't need the 2 queen beds at SSR you could request the studio portion be a lock-off. Lock-offs usually have 1 queen bed and a sofa sleeper.

Most 2nd bedrooms at OKW are already lock-offs and they are the only DVC with queen beds in those rooms.

You have to be sure to book a lockoff. A dedicated 2 bedroom would only have 1 entrance and no separate entrance/exit from the studio side.

Most 2 bedrooms are not lockoffs at OKW. Lockoffs are typically separated for 1 bedroom and studio reservations.

SSR - 0 Dedicated Studios - 0 Dedicated 1Bdrm - 360 Dedicated 2Bdrm - 432 Lockoffs - 60 THV - 36 Grand Villas = 888 Units / 1320 Max. Available Rooms

The dedicated two bedroom at OKW will have a very large closet when the entrance would have been and a second bathroom sink area where the kitchenette would have been. The lock off will have the kitchenette and exit to the outside. The dedicated will not have a separate porch for the second bedroom, but it will have a porch for the lockoff.
