Abercrombie's newest store. Pictures* UPDATE

I think that it is slightly frightening how many kids (not commenting on anybody who has posted here...just kids that dd knows) use these clothes as status symbols. A&F and other, similar retailers know this and can charge outrageous prices because of it. It also irks me that so many of the trendy clothes have the store name plastered on them but I think it is marketing genius that these stores get people to pay money to be walking advertisements for them.

Ok, some people do shop there just to be able to say "Look at me! Im wearing this expensive brand! Abercrombie!!" Some t-shirts do have their logo on it so the people that shop there are promoting the stores (Im guilty of having a shirt that says Hollister) I just like the style of it all. Everything fits nice and it isn't baggy. I like how on the jeans it is a little bit faded and a little destroyed. Looks very vintage :thumbsup2

There's been one at the indoor/outdoor mall complex here (Easton in Columbus, OH) for a while, but I've never been. I've heard that it's more expensive than Abercrombie, and I think Abercrombie is overpriced, anyway. So I don't really have a desire to shop there. :confused3

Oh yeah, plus in my experience with Abercrombie and Hollister, you have to be a toothpick to fit into their clothes... the last time I went to Hollister, I couldn't even fit into a small, and in several styles, a medium was too tight. And I'm 5' and probably only weighed about 110 at the time.

It's interesting, but when I'm buying clothes the last thing I am concerned about it what the storefront looks like. I went in Hollister once and could hardly see anything. The only trendy store I really like is AE -- better clothing and better prices. And I appreciate that their employees don't walk around with sticks up their butts, but actually speak to you and offer to help. Plus they have the rewards program and frequently have sales/coupons.

I'm not nearly young enough, hip enough, or rich enough to be interested in going inside.

yeah really, if i had $100 to spend on a pair of jeans maybe. wait, no, scratch that. i don't want to spend $100 for a pair of jeans that are ripped anyway.

those stores have always scared me. the music is always way too loud when i go in there and the lighting is always so dark(espically in Hollister). i don't know how anyone can even see what they're trying on.

I do admit that they do blast it. I like it I guess  Loud music gets you pumped up and the up-beat techno that they play just gets you excited I guess.

if they actually played some good music once in a while, i guess it wouldn't be that bad.

i'll stick with Hot Topic thank you. their music, ironically, is never pumped that loud and they play good music.

My DD's are 21 and 23 and love Hollister. Their jeans and t's actually fit them better than most stores because they are really made on the slim side.

To me Hollister seems to be for older teens/young adults than younger teens. My daughter's college boyfriend has some t's from there that have sexually suggestive sayings that I don't think you could wear in most high schools. My daughter bought a t from there that she can sleep in or wear around the house but that's it.

I love Ruehl! They have one in Paramus at the Garden State Plaza. Great stuff in there :thumbsup2 , but their prices are

Usually I end up just browsing through their sales stuff, they always seem to have good deals there. I think I would find cheaper stuff at Nieman Marcus half the time...

Thats what I was afraid of :guilty: I hope its not like CRAZY expensive. Are the sale prices reasonable?

Like has been said, we've had that store here for quite a while! I didn't realize that it was labeled as "new"

It is just about the same price (from what we've seen) as A&F. While A&F is supposedly more "west coast inspired" this one is more "east coast inspired" The t-shirts for the men were less costly than at our A&F.

Honestly I don't like the store much though. I seem to find more for my DH at A&F, but then again we aren't huge fans of A&F either.

It's just an okay store... but if you love A&F this might be one someone likes.

I really don't like the layout of our store (multi levels) and cannot stand the loud music blasted. The fitting rooms were hard to find and I admit, I've had a hard time finding people working there. I think we've only bought a t-shirt there in the past. Not many sales that I have seen at ours either.
