ABD Barcelona Pre Cruise Question

Has anyone done this? We are getting nervous as we leave in under 3 weeks but still haven't received any info so I'm getting worried about if they will be at the airport to meet us! I called DCL who sent me to ABD who sent me back to DCL so its frustrating... Can anyone tell me anything about this add on b/c we are looking forward to it but...

Wow! I can understand how that would be frustrating! I can't imagine that there won't be someone at the airport to pick you up, since you have all your pre-days booked through ABD. This is part of the issue when DCL makes all the policy decisions, but ABD are the folks doing it. The communication has never been the best for these cruise add-ons because of it. Kind of one hand not knowing what the other is doing.

So sorry you're in this situation. I leave in 2 weeks for my Greece ABD and haven't gotten my box yet, and ABD said it was because they had to re-print parts of it. Maybe that's what happened to yours. I'd just keep bugging ABD about it until you get a good answer!

Hey, suzy, I just talked to ABD, and apparently, due to "unforseen circumstances", all of the boxes for the first few ABD's for this year were delayed. They were supposedly sent out yesterday, and should arrive by Friday via UPS. I'd be talking to ABD if you don't see anything by then.

We are on the June 1 Cruise. We're doing the pre-cruise ABD but not the add on. We've never done ABD before so we thought this would be a good taste of it. Are you doing the add on? And yes, maybe we will see you =) I'm counting down because we leave for London on May 24th!

Hey, suzy, I just talked to ABD, and apparently, due to "unforseen circumstances", all of the boxes for the first few ABD's for this year were delayed. They were supposedly sent out yesterday, and should arrive by Friday via UPS. I'd be talking to ABD if you don't see anything by then.

Thanks, I called DVC today b/c I'm tired of the DCL/ABD runaround and heard the same thing. They told me to call on Monday if I don't have anything by then... I was assured that everything for the tours was fine...

We are on the pre-cruise Barcelona ABD for the June 27th sailing. I have to agree with Suzy. I spoke to DCL to add a food allergy note to our reservation. When I asked if this would also be noted for the ABD portion, he said no and that I had to call them. When I called ABD, they told me that I had to contact DCL . The communication is horrible! I had to insist that they look up my reservation and to please note the allergy. Needless to say, she wasn't pleased.

This is our first ABD, and I have to say so far we are not impressed. We have heard nothing from them. I sure would be nice to have a detailed itinerary for knowing what to pack.

I'm sure all will be fantastic once we get there! I have only heard and read positive remarks. We are staying positive and looking forward to our adventure!

We're doing a pre-cruise add-on in barcelona july 10 and I agree that its been boffo. First of all, they cancelled one of our reservations, ACCIDENTALLY, so even though we were the first on this tour, now it was full and three of couldn't get on it! So after waiting for days between my TA at DU, ABD and DCL, they somehow added us to the tour. However, they wouldn't confirm it was happening and they still haven't. The fine print says they can cancel at any time...hmmm.

I have only received one email asking what my flight information was although I had input it 5 times on my on-line check-in.

I took an ireland ABD and I'm worried this one will not be worth the BIG bucks we dished out for it. I'm still concerned they'll cancel it! I know I have 2 months, but they should have confirmed it's happening by now.

This DCL/ABD/TA communication drives me crazy. If they want to grow this business, they need to start treating us like premium passengers well before we arrive. If I'm dishing out close to $10,000 for 3 nights for the 5 of us, it had better be good, right from the booking stage, and right now I'm a little nervous!

My previous ABD was amazing....and I am looking forward to this one too, but it would be nice to be getting more information and confirmation ahead of time.

Sorry to hear about the confusion on your itinerary. ABD will not cancel 70 days before your trip starts. DCL canceled the Madrid add-ons but you should not have been affected.

The reservation stuff is DCL, not ABD. You make your reservation with DCL, and ABD provides the services. I totally understand your frustration (I'd be foaming at the mouth!!) but it's DCL making and administrating your reservations, managing your information (including your online-checkin) and making all the policy decisions.

Wow! That's late! I leave for Paris on June 28 and my cruise is July 13, so I hope that my stuff comes before I leave. I'm getting anxious about not hearing anything yet.

We got a backpack for each person, brochure book, luggage tags , tip envelopes and a trip document to sign and return to ABD.

Having just left the Magic this morning I have to say that the ABD add on in Barcelona was awesome! The guides are fantastic! We had Armando and James and we met Robin and Emily the other guides and they were all terrific! I can't say enough great things about this tour! I will put together a trip report once we get back but I wanted to say for those who will be going you will have a wonderful time!
