ABD Backstage Magic - Summer 2010 Edition!

Now I am getting nervous!!! LOL I don't want to over pack but I think I will need to change clothes for the evenings. I am just a t-shirt kind of 'girl' but I am thinking fresh clothes will be necessary after being out in the sunshine all day.

I started packing today too! I'm definitely a t-shirt girl, and I had a hard time narrowing down which of my Disney t-shirts to bring, and which to leave home. I brought a few extras, just cuz. I'm only bringing two "nicer" shirts and I know I will be supplementing with stuff bought while there!

Hey guys! Back from the 55th Anniversary today. It was fun.

FYI - there is special premium ear embroidery available for the rest of the month to commemorate the anniversary, that you guys will be able to pick up, should you choose, and other merchandise related that still might be available.

We planned to start packing today but ran out of today. Our summer festival was this weekend, our son-in-law did the triathalon - finished 17th, brother's accoustic guitar trio played at noontime, our daughter played clarinet in the City Band concert at 2, going out for a fast dinner with friends and heading to the Big Top tent in Bayfield for the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band concert. Our internet problems seemed to have mostly cleared. We there always is tomorrow.

If I'm this panicked over how unprepared I am, how much more panicked will I be by the end of the week?

Is everyone sticking to shorts and a nice shirt for the "dressier" evenings, or is anyone bringing pants or dresses? Shorts seem easier and help pack lighter. I plan to bring a few nice shirts and mostly other Disney t-shirts and polos...and just barely enough of those. Part of the "keep room for stuff I will buy" plan...

I can't believe that we'll be face-to-face by this time next week, and we'll be having fun in Hollywood.

No dresses here. Anything that isn't a t-shirt is dressing up for me. I am trying to find a couple of decent tops to wear for a couple of our dinners, but it isn't easy. After we get to Disneyland it will be Mickey t's for me.

I meet a guy at the grocery store today who had a WDW shirt on, so I had to talk to him. His family are DVC members and he asked me if I get on 'disboards.'
I said, "Everyday!!!" It was fun, we talked about 15 minutes. Anyone that has a WDW shirt on or even Mickey I talk to them. I have even talked to people if they have a Disney antenna topper.

I can't believe that the trip is so soon. I had every intention of starting to pack this weekend...but I didn't. I did get a bit of shopping done for shampoo, etc. It is going to be a busy week with packing and getting things caught up at work so that I can concentrate solely on vacation once Friday gets here.

I bought travel size of everything last week too! I usually pack all that stuff in my checked luggage so I don't have to worry about the TSA checkpoint, but since I'm hoping to travel carry-on only (at least on the way out), I have to pack my own this time. It's kind of fun picking up all those cute little bottles of everything!

I am mostly packed (I think). Just have to pack my camera/computer bag, which won't happen till the last minute.

Less than a week to go!!

I'm so excited and so nervous about not getting everything ready in time. My camera bag weighs a ton, and I'm trying not to overpack, but didn't get as much done as I wanted to do this weekend.

I guess as long as we all bring the minimum gear required to get us to and from the trip, that'll be the most important. And walking shoes. Can you believe it's under a week away?!

Here's a picture of the special ear embroidery that was released yesterday. The embroidery is on the back of a standard set of Mickey ears. The ears are $21.95 ($11.95 for the hat and $10 for the embroidery). FYI embroidery is not eligible for an AP discount.

Thanks NikkiBell! We're so thrilled to be going on this trip of a lifetime, and can't believe it's only 4 days away.

What is everyone doing this weekend? We are having a family picnic but I would rather be packing and getting ready. I wonder what I will forget.
Because I work nights, I usually don't get to bed until 3am, but on Sunday I need to be up at 4:30 so I can fly out at 7:00. I will be to excited to sleep!!!! Maybe I can sleep on the plane.
