For you Teresa, the story. As I said in my intro, I am an avid motorcyclist. I got back into motorcycling in 1991. I had taken a break from riding because I did not have the required restraint to keep myself and others safe. My parents didn't like motorcycles and would not let me ride when I was in high school and college and still living at home.
I bought a new Harley Davidson Sportster in 1991. My wife and I rode that bike from Northern Va to just west of Pittsburgh, Pa. to visit my mother, who was in the hospital with termnal lung cancer. When I told her that we rode up to see her on the bike, I was expecting a stern lecture about the danger of riding a motorcycle. Instead, my mother could see how much I enjoyed riding and instead of a lecture, gave me some sage advice. She said, "Living is just about breathing. If you really enjoy riding as much as I think you do, I am good with it."
Since then, I have owned many different brands, but I always come back to BMW. In 1994, I was heavily involved in a motorcycle forum called the IBMWR. Internet BMW Riders. Since my ride at that time was a 1994 BMW R1100RS, which is refered to as an "Oilhead" because they use the engine oil to cool the motor, I adopted the forum name of "Oilheadbob" . I thought about a Disney related name, but I use this one on many forums so when I registered here, that is what I used.
A long story to get to a simple explanation, I know. Since then I have owned 16 different BMW motorcycles. Disney World and exploring the marvelous country of ours are my two passions.
