ABC The View Filming at AK March 6-10

The View co-hosts (Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sara Haines, Jedediah Bila, Sunny Hostin and Paula Faris) will be visiting Walt Disney World March 6 to March 10, with the show airing 11am - 12pm ET each day.

I'm not a fan of the show, but might this indicate some sort of extended preview for media for either ROL and/or Avatarland?

Of course we think it's for Avatar, or at least I do.....However from the marketing side, it could be as easy as an infomercial to get AK on the map for tourists this summer....so that when Avatar does open, it's relative and current in folks minds.

Disney is definitely going to market AK like no tomorrow. They want that park attendance to go way up and take some off of MK. We will have to wait and see what happens though.

It's an interesting case study...most analyst feel that traditional marketing does little to affect travel bookings anymore...

I would guess that's 95% the result of the growth of digital media and be shrinking of the pool of people that can actually afford the travel in the first place.

Ak has and likely will always have some things working against it. The rumor always was they are similar to concerns on the board level expressed when Eisner kinda jammed it through in the first place.

It'd be nice to think it's a clue for the new stuff at AK, but they could have done a show last March promoting ROL and we'd stll be here with no opening date. I guess Avatarland at least is built, and even if the rides aren't completely ready they can still have a look around.

That show is painful.

My wife watches it. Whenever I pass by the tv when The View is on it seems like there is a lot of applause and enthusiasm for any random comment. Not sure what they do to the audience to rev them up like that, seems unnatural to me.

I had just read (From Tom Bricker) they were filming at AK ... not "disney world" ... which would seem to focus this on AK ROL/Pandora

From the show website it sounds like AK is the main event/stage and focus but they will be "visiting" other parks. I am a Whoopi Goldberg fan so Im excited to try for tickets. FYI some of the tickets have been posted as available on the website just about an hour ago so if interested you may want to apply for them. They will have celebrities on the show while there as well.
