ABC Super Soap Weekend

has anyone ever been there at that time. i have a vacation planned and we are staying at the grand floridian from nov 11- 15. i am curious if the parks will be crazy busy?? thanks

I have been there during Super Soap weekend for the last three years because our DD had off from school that week, not because of the soaps. The Parks and Resorts are really full due to three factors, first New Jersey schools have off Thursday and Friday so allot of NJ families go to Disney that week. Secondly there is a National holiday on the 11th (Veterans Day) so many make a long weekend out of that date and finally, believe it or not Super Soap weekend is extremely popular with Soap fans. If you are there that weekend, do not plan on going to MGM on either Saturday or Sunday unless you like the soap stars. That Park will be mobbed, many of the attractions are closed and used for signature stations for the Soap stars. All of the Disney Resorts are booked for that week and weekend. The other Parks will be full but manageable. Just plan on going to MK, EPCOT or AK or even a water park on Saturday and Sunday.

Hello -
I have gone to every Super Soap Weekend since they started. Believe it or not - there are many of us! As far as going to MGM that weekend/ if you do not go early, the rides are usually readily accessible. We are not there for the attractions and so the wait time is usually not bad. As for attractions being closed - it's not really anything. Different parades, different Millionaire shows(soap oriented), and maybe one of the stage productions. My son (15) usually goes along because he loves MGM that weekend for those very reasons - no lines! Also at night there is always a street party in front of the hat. Really gets mobbed - so get there around 10 and leave around 6. If you have any questions feel free to email me or PM me.

Jersey Week is the week before. Epcot will be finishing off the Food and Wine Fesitval that weekend also. Seems like that Saturday and Sunday will be good days for AK.

We (me and 2 ladies from work) are going for SSW for the first time this year. We are trying to plan what we are going to do for the weekend. What has been the usual schedule of events? What can we expect?

As far as schedules go - last year was different than the others because they started using FastPasses for the celebrity autograph signings. Get there very early and decide who you want to see the most. Chances are you may only get one autograph per day. The most popular go very fast. Each person may only get one fastpass and then get back in line. There were 3 lines (one for each soap). It was extremely crazy. If you're not interested in autographs and individual pictures with the celebrity then you can plan out your day when you get there with the schedule they give out. There are talk shows, Millionaire shows and stuff like that. It's hard for me to describe. My daughter and I have been going every year - lots of bonding! Plan on spending alot of time waiting around. It's not all that bad because we always have met alot of really nice people and once you start chatting about life in Port Charles, Llanview, and Pine Valley the time just flies by!!!!

When the Stars come out to thier Autograph signing post, they come out by the Star Tours ride! This is where you will get the BEST pictures of the stars, as they are walking thru the park to get to thier posts. Shhhh...don't tell anyone else.
