ABC parade taping - any updates?

FWIW: We were told tonight that our work schedules for next Thursday and Friday (12th & 13th) will be getting changed in the next couple of days as changes are going to be made in the way and times they tape the parade. I know that my "long day" shift begins at 6am on Friday and doesn't end until late afternoon and it is a parade "taping" shift.

So, your Friday parade shift might become your Thursday parade shift if they change your work schedules some time this week?

From what I am understanding, Friday will stay as is. Wednesday "overnight stuff" (I was scheduled to be there until 2:30am on Thursday morning - that has changed and I traded my Thursday shift).

For watchers, be advised that the parade that you see on Christmas day, does not necessarily "tape" in that sequence nor it is a "continuous, non-stop" parade that you will watch. If you are there for a whole session of taping, you may see the same float or unit come through a couple of times if they did not get an earlier shot to their liking.

Thanks, 11290, that's perfect news! CM friend, who is scheduled to befriend a VIP on a parade float on the 13th, is in CA through the 12th. Was worried it may have impacted her involvement in the taping.

There will be a very large crowd watching FoF @ 5:00. Other than that, everything associated with the taping will be cleared before 5:00.

Yeah, I've watched once before when I was a CM a few years back, not quite as exciting as you expect it to be! But I thought my son might like it, and my CM friend offered a spare ticket. I guess maybe we'll decide depending on weather - if it's still 90 degrees here we might pass!

Ok, Thursday 11/12 is our MK day (we'll leave after the now 5 PM FOF parade) We arrive about 11am. What can I expect in the way of crowds/TV stuff? We have no interest in the taping or anything to do with it, just want to get through the Hub to Tomorrowland and our FP+ plans. I am hoping the back walkway is open.

Hmm, thanks for the info. Our tickets are for Thursday at 1pm and I'm trying to figure out what we'll be seeing and whether or not we should go.

Just a heads up but your PPO breakfast on Friday is no longer PPO since MK opens at 8 now. Not sure about hours on Tuesday and Thursday.
