Hi, I am thinking of making my son a book before we go (9-2007) for him to check out what the ABC's of Disney are. Thought I would give it to me to look at on the drive there.
There are a few letters I am stuck on. So, I am asking for any ones input on any letter. I am thinking of this Example: A: Animal Kingdom....then tell a little something about it.(like when it opened and how big it is, how many animals are there....) B: Buzz Lightyear....a character from Toy Story

GREAT IDEA!! My DD just turned 2 and I am making a similar book for her but just basic words and pictures. A is for apple, airplane, etc. But to make one with a Disney theme and have it keep him occupied on the way there is even more fun. I may have to borrow that idea for our trip in November. Have a great time making it and thanks for sharing your idea.

Ok,
I have actually gotten the time to sit down long enough to work on a few pages for my ABC book idea. Any how it is not how I DREAMED it to be but it will work for what I am wanting it to do. Feel free to let me know what you all think and I hope to be adding pages as time goes on.

I love this idea. You may even want to do 2, one with ride and such and another with characters. If you do one of just characters it would be a great place to have them autograph. You may want to leave enough space (or use the back of the page opposite to add a picture of your child at each place. It would make the dream last longer as you do this when you get home. You could even have a little box to check off as you get the picture at each place.

Putting the book together: As a teach I would suggest a couple of things I would holepunch the book and use either jump rings (similar to key chain rings) or binder rings( just like the ones found in binders but you put them in on your own. To make each page a little sturdier you could print it on cardstock or put the looseleaf paper holders around the holes.

Another idea for putting it together is to get a little book that you use for calenders and agendas that are refillable and just put your own pages inside instead of the calendar.

Molly K,

That looks great. I would love to see it finished and borrow it if you do not mind?!

I am also looking at doing a book with numbers 1-20. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.

Hopesmommy - you go right ahead and use it! That is why I posted it to share and share alike. I am stumped on the numbers (with the exception of using characters like 1 mouse - it all started with 1 mouse - use a clipart of mickey - then 2 goofy's an so on.) My son has a counting book that does something like that with animals. I am sure you have thought of that already though.
I will keep thinking - but if you come up with anything please share.

Rebecca - Thanks to you too! I have thought about puting it in a 3 ring hard back binder and having it in those plastic cover/sleeve deals that you can find. Thought that way it is some what protected and if he is eating soemthing while he is looking at it, it will wipe right off. I thought of the other options you mentioned as well. That is why I am having a hard time getting it done. I can not choose what to put in this one. I might just start all over you never know. I will be sure to share what I get done though!

Thanks for the great words everyone! It helps me know that what I am doing is not a waste of my time - that is what the feelings are that I am getting from DH! Men! Got to love them no matter how crazy that think we are - right!

you could do something for each number like four is for the four disney world parks. one is for the one castle.

Ok, I have started yet something else to work on! These following are just pages "ABC Character pages" I do not have a title page yet. But here is what I have so far. I tried to put a picture of the character, the their name under it and under that the movie that they come from. I am not sure that my son will know all of them and thought it might help get him to know Disney info even more.
PM me if you want any of these and I will email them to you!

Please give my any input as well! I need all the help I can find!

Still need some Ideas for X? As a scrapbooker - I too have searched for these type of things:

X: Xanthippe, Xcellent!, Xebec, Xenophobia, Xiphoid, xoxoxoxoxo, x-ray, X-tra special, Extraterrorestrial Alien Encounter, xylophone, piXie dust, PiXar...

Your pages look great!! I know that someone mentioned printing them out on cardstock. I think if I do one, I'll print it on cardstock and then either laminate the pages, using the laminating sheets you can buy in Staples (I don't have a machine), or just buy the clear page holders that go into a looseleaf binder and put each page in there. I'm sure that the page holders have a name, but I can't think of it right now. :confused3 Or you could always put each page into a photo album!! So many ideas for putting it all together!

The page holders is the way I think I am going to go. But I did not even think about adding them to my Scrapbook later with photos. I might just wait and edit them to see who we get photos of and go from there. You are right though, so many ideas that can come from this. Oh my! What on earth was I thinking!
