Abby&Jon's PJ/Sept21,07/WP/Ariel's- didn't quite get the camera to work :(

Jodee! thanks for the reminder, I'm such a ridiculous slacker and i get engrossed w/ everyone else's plans....

Latest:

Jon's uncle and aunt are coming to NY July 4th weekend and I am peeing on myself because I haven't met any of his family in person. I keep having nightmares that the meeting is going to bomb.
As we have discussed before (wink, wink) I'm a big yapper and I think my df's family is much more laid back and their conversations are more paced. I'm not saying their retarted and all, (of course not abby) just saying that I have to check myself before opening the chompers.

Wedding related: What do you ladies think about this hairstyle? I like this hairstyle, but not sure yet...

What do y'all think of this veil?
viel1.jpg

I'm really going for the romantic look here.

Also, is there a "check yourself in for your latest wieght" thread? I need to lose 10 pounds by August and I haven't been very faithful to the diet because there is absolutely no one to report to. My mom says that i'm chunky, yet, she tries to feed me all the time.
OH! and I went to Pathmark (our market) and they had Edy's ice cream on sale: Buy 1 tub, get 2 free!!!!!!!!
I got 2 ice cream sundaes and 1 rocky road, YUMMO! ok, so this is why the weight isn't comin' off.

I do have an old 1990 Abs of Steel tape w/ Tammy Lee Webb (she's the best!-i used to wear my socks w/ white high top sneaks to look just like her:confused3 ) and it really did work when I gave it my best. My BIL still calls me Abs of steel (short for Abigail)- although, that's really not how my abs look.:sad2:

Abby that veil is amazing!

You just made me laugh so hard it hurt. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I would just say. Drink alot of water, cut back what you eat ( the ice cream) hehe, have small portions? Walk as much as you can. Look at the inches more then the pounds. That is what worked for me.

O-H Y-EEEE-AAAAH! Richard is the man! He is the workout master. It's like he has a whip (can you hear the whip crack?) in his hand or somethin', people just respond to him.

you know that music thing, it's so true. I find that I start humming along to the background elevator music on the tape while trying to pull a crunch. But now I'm more conscious of it becuase I've been caught several times- embarassing...

Yes! you reminded me to drink water before eating. thank you!
Laura be careful. Okay, I am going to be serious from now on, cannot have you getting more hurt. You are forbidden to LAUGH!

:lmao: :lmao: I better not read many more of your posts then. You say the funniest things sometimes. It's great!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yay! You gave an update Abby!!! See, this is why I needed you to post...because you totally crack me up! I mean it!

I know that Jon's Aunt and Uncle are going to absolutely adore you...how could they not???

And, I know you are not overweight...and it is so not right for your mom to say so and then offer you food!!! Mixed messages...not healthy for you!! :rotfl: Anyway!

Like Laura said, you can have your ice cream (my one and only weakness!), but watch how much you have in one sitting! And with it being summer...go for a walk! Your skin and entire body will thank you for it, plus drinking lots of water will give you that healthy glow too.

And then you'll look beeeautiful in that gown of yours and in that gorgeous veil and with that stunning hairstyle (OK, you'll look great anyway--but can you tell I like the veil and hair-do??)

Keep it rollin' babe...lookin' forward to it!!:cutie:

Ummm, yeah, I still have my VHS tape of my Jane Fonda workout...and it is so worn out it barely plays anymore, that's how over worked it is!! Let me tell you about trying to match my aerobics outfits with hers!!! Crazy...but its funny to think back on that now! :rotfl:

Abby- Oh my goodness! I just stumbled accross your planning journal, and I almost had a heart attack when I saw your dress! That is the first dress I have seen on these boards that I wish was mine!!! I LOVE it more than my own! It's so beautiful :cloud9: I cannot wait to see you wearing it! You are going to be stunning!

I'm also kind of having a beachy theme wedding, but it's really become more of a flip-flop theme. That's why we chose Ariel's too! Happy planning, can't eait to read more :)

LOVE that hairstyle - it will look gorgeous with the veil! :thumbsup2

Abby,

love, love, love the veil!!!!!!! :goodvibes and where is that ice cream on sale??!! :rotfl: actually, I'm drinking so much damn water, I think I'm going to float soon! at my age, these things take ALOT longer than they used too!! oh well

Michelle:cloud9:

jodeeeeee!

Although I've never seen any of Jane Fonda's videos, I have seen her outfits... you fit into those? wow! you must be in the shape of your life girl! Her leggings probably would fit around my wrist. And she always had killer highlights and the best hair ev-er! She could have been sweating up a storm, but the hair was always perfectly in tact.
My mom would try to do her workouts w/ a plastic supermarket bag around her waist...youwant to release water? I know its borderline ghetto, but that's great way to do it:thumbsup2

HI Jen! I'm sure your dress is just as beautiful, if not more. Did you ever post it? I've never seen it!
How I'm to look in it, that's a different story....

Yaye! for the beachy theme! 12 days left!!!!  how are controlling the excitement?!?!?

LOVE that hairstyle - it will look gorgeous with the veil! :thumbsup2

Lurkyloo- Oh yaye, you like it! thank you!!!! this def helps my decision.

Michelle- haha! that's so good. I heard, not going to say who (her name starts w/ and L;) ) that if you drink water before your meals this helps to control portions. Keep it up and post your results. we'll be waiting!!!

What? You put a grocery bag around your waist... why?? what does that do? Is this a trick I need to learn?

haha! you made me laugh maggie...

you know those stretchy things that women place around their waists while working out? (UHHH, WHAT IS IT CALLED????....) anyway, if you wrapp a plastic bag under it, (around your stomach), it helps to release water.

It's a majorly 80's thing to do, but it does work because it makes you sweat ALOT. My mom used to make me do that whenever we'd go out for walks and sometimes I'd wear it to school. (to lose some water during the day).

But that was not very smart, it was like throwing myself to the wolves because here's the down side- you know the swish-swashy sound that plastic bags make? we'll when you walk, people can hear it. So, when I was younger, people would ask me "what the heck is that sound your making?, sounds you like you gotta plastic bag up your butt"

Needless to say, I had to stop using that for everyday use. Now its strictly for workouts!

thats neat id never heard of that. So you use this in addition to something? What do you put over it? Is it a weight or a girdle type thing?

oh boy, if any of you ladies know what I'm talking please jump in...

it's kind of like a rubbery, stretchy wide strap that you wear around your waist during a workout. the plastic goes underneath. uhhh, sorry I forgot the name!

I know/have see what you're talking about Ab, but I can't think of the name either...but the principle of the plastic bag is correct, as far as helping you sweat more. I can remember seeing all of the guys who were wrestlers in HS running around the building wearing garbage bags before weigh-ins to try to release those last few fractions of a pound!!!

NOOO! I did/do not fit into the outfits Jane Fonda wore, but I sure squeezed into the most awful leotard you've ever seen, and I looked pretty comical and ridiculous, that's for sure! And yes, Jane's hair never ever moved!!! Weird!

OK, now back to your planning...what's next? Did we see your invites/programs, etc... when do we get to see a pic of you IN your gorgeous dress??? Or, do we have to wait for the TR??

Impatient is my middle name.

Ok, I'm being serious here. Don't really want to scare anyone but when I went to fit my dress on, I had no make-up, did not do anything to my hair after washing it that morning, and the dress fit pretty big on me. If you still want to see how the dress looks so far, here are the pics below (view at your discretion):

Just arrived:

Here you can see that I have major back fat potential.
(Laura- I'm doin' what you did! This is crunch time. Tammie lee WEbb and I are going to be working it!!! I'm getting Jodee's leotard and I'm gonna find my white high-tops, hmmm, I think I remember having leg warmers too:idea: )

dress5.jpg

When the man ordered my dress, he made a little side note on the tag that said: LARGE CHEST (thanks dude:rolleyes: )
Thank goodness my seamtress promised to make it fit!

dress4.jpg

Many apologies for the scary pics :scared: but they're all I have right now.
Hopefully after my first fitting in July, I'll have something better to show.

Oh my goodness Abby! You are way too hard on yourself! You have a great body and are a beautiful girl with or without make-up! I don't know what you are talking about needing to lose weight!

Your dress is amazing though and you look so beautiful in it! I cannot believe that guy wrote that though... men

You are beautiful! And you know you can't deny it. Your dress is amazing. Oh trust me I had way more back fat. Ha. I can't wait to see after the final fitting.

HOLY CA'MOLY AL (<-- definitely a Chris Farley right there)-- you are anything BUT fat. You have absolutely not one ounce of back fat on you-- and I dont see fat anywhere else either. You have the body people would kill for! Big chest, small stomach, VERY CUTE back..... Abby-- you have got to me kidding me! You could fit into that leotard right now!

I want you to go get that thing on... get your socks on and take a photo! The dress looks amazing on you!

As DH would say "Killer boots"...
