Abbreviations

After a few sessions reading the boards, most of the routine abbreviations come clear--although my first 3-4 times reading I was mightily confused! And I saw one yesterday that has me stumped (SV????)...so I thought maybe a sticky showing the really common abbreviations might be helpful to all? Things like:

CM: cast member
MS: member services
VWL: Villas at Wilderness Lodge
BCV: Beach Club Villas
BWV: Board Walk Villas
SSR: Saratoga Springs Resort
OKW: Old Key West
HH: Hilton Head
VB: Vero Beach
Ressies: Reservations
DH/DW/DS/DD (etc): Dear husband/wife/son/daughter
WDW: Walt Disney WOrld

No doubt there are others...some are "obvious"; others are head-scratchers...

What do you think?
DLH: Disneyland Hotel (this one took "forever" for me to figure out!)
SV: ????????? (still haven't figured that one out!)

I think it's standard view. Generally used in reference to the Boardwalk Villas. And yes, I agree, the abbreviations can take some getting used to!

SV is Standard View (usually used to differentiate the BWV views along with PV and BW).

There is already a thread here on the DVC Boards listing many of the commonly used abbreviations and acronyms.There is also a link to that thread in the "Ongoing Discussion Topics" Thread stuck at the top of the DVC Boards.

If you think of any not already on that list, just add a post to the thread so it may be updated.

Thanks, Doc (and Princess Jasmine)...SV (standard view) was driving me crazy!

Where oh where is the abbreviations thread? I thought I had "scoured" for it...all goes to prove I need another trip to WDW...my brain obviously is on overload if I can't even find a thread I'm looking specifically for!

I have to agree with you that it is VERY hard to find the abbreviation list. I have searched for it and you cannot find by a keyword search. Glad to pass on a link to it. http://www.wdwinfo.com/abbreviations.htm I agree that it should be a foremost sticky.
