As you know all 3 kids have had chicken pox. We fly to spain at the weekend and as Ebony still has lots of scabs on her neck and face I asked the doctor for a letter saying that she was ok to fly.

This is what the letter says

To whom it may concern

chicken pox is infectious from 3 days before the spots appear until 6 days after the 1st leasions.

Signed DR ....

No mention of Ebony's name or how long she has had them since.

So phoned DR and because the DR didn't see Ebony she can't state how long she has had them for. The day Ebony got the spots I phoned the DR to get it put on her record, I'm really going to lie and say she had them when she didn't am I? Also Ebony got chicken pox in her eye and the DR was able to write a presription out for eye drops without seeing her, so its ok to give medication but not a letter without seeing her :confused3:confused3:confused3
I can just imagine the trouble if I had taken her into the drs when she was infectious.

Anyway I now have an appointment tomorrow with the DR and hopefully he will examine her and write a letter that she is not infectious.

How stupid, hope you get it sorted tomorrow. :wizard:

That is so silly. The letter doesnt even make sense.

I also didnt know Doctors can prescribe prescribtions without seeing you. Weird. Hope you get it sorted hun :)

That is a ridiculous letter, but we do have to give GP's a break at the moment. Most are stressed out of their minds with Swine Flu and massive patient overload. If they are generally a good doctor, this might just have been a rushed job, if not, think about changing!

Took Ebony to see a different doctor in our pratice and he wrote a proper letter giving her name, how long she had had them and also stated that she was not infectious. He just shook his head about the other doctor and said she was being unreasonable.

So we are all ready to fly and hopefully we shall have no more problems
