AARP Discount?

Wow, I'll be surprised if Disney doesn't offer 55+ a discount. Think of all of the baby boomers who would love to bring their grandchildren and imagine the money that would be spent on gifts!

No there is no discount at all for 55 and older. There is also no discount for an older person in a wheelchair coming late in the day, that will not be going on any rides just there to see a show, eat or fireworks.

I am surprised Disney doesn't offer a AARP discount. Especially when you consider:

Does anyone know if there any AARP Discounts offered at WDW?
Thanks
Steph

I booked the education rate at the Swan/Dolphin and noticed they have an AARP discount. I put in my dates with AARP discount and received $169.50 rate. Not as good as the $99 rate but not too shabby. I'm not sure if it's available all the time but it wouldn't hurt to check.

Here's the link I used from this site:

Swan and Dolphin is not Disney owned that is probably why this is an AARP discount.

Thanks for the tip about the S/D. Part of our family would like to go in the Spring. All 6 are over 55 so I'll pass this info on to them.

I was able to book the Swan with an AARP discount a couple of years ago. It was 50% off rack rate at that time.

Now my hot button is pushed. LOL.... I will be 60 this next month. I have supported Disney since the day it opened. I have also ventured to Disney Land on many occasions. We are stock holders, were Annual Passholders for 12 yrs and purchase gifts for each of 6 Grandchildern on each of outwice yearly trips to WDW where we stay Deluxe. Not 5 cents is taken off for a senior. Even movie theatres and airlines recognise seniors. We were the original Mouseketeers for God's sake. They are missing the boat by not having a senior discount. Call us the Silver ears or Golden Ears, but do something for us......I would love to see a campaign started to honor the Grandparents. We pick up the tab for so many Disney excursions, movies, trips, clothes, bedroom decorations, etc.....

Thanks for letting this Granny vent......What do you think guys???

Wow, do I agree! I don't have kids but have taken neices and nephews 35 times in the past 30 years. We are now at the point of exploring the world as a couple. This is the first time that I have heard of a hotel not offering a discount for the baby boomer generation. Hey WDW, join the rest of the group.
