AAKKK!!!!! Castor OIL!!!!!

I am having some tests tomorrow...nothing very serious, but I need to be cleaned out. I just had to take two table spoons of CASTOR OIL and chase with water!!!! AAAKKKK!!!! I almost did not get it down...its the worse stuff I ever tasted DW is laughing at me....I brushed my teeth three times and my eyes will not stop watering!!!!! Go ahead and laugh at me AAAKKKKK!!!!

I didn't know they still prescribed castor oil for that. I think I had to take castor oil in 1974 but it was in orange juice and they added baking soda???? Am I misremembering, DIS nurses?

I thought you were supposed to drink it orange juice, too. It's supposed to cover up the taste better. At least that's what all of my pregnancy books say. I've never tried castor oil, but from what I've heard, I think I'd rather leave my baby in there than drink it.

While I don't know what castor oil is....Good luck to you today on the tests Patrick, sending possitive vibes to you. Now can someone tell me what castor oil is?? I never heard of that.

Kanga, if you ever see old shows or movies and you see the mom giving a child a spoonful of medicine. It was usually caster oil. The kid always made a terrible face about it.
Caster Oil was the cure all for everything. I'm sure it worked well. See a child would never admit to being sick so they wouldn't have to get that stuff.
Or that's what I think. I've never had the stuff.

I just did a quick search.....you see, since I grew up in Spain we called it quite different but we do have it there tooo, and yes IT IS NASTY!!! I have only had it once in my life ( thanks mom ) and I feel for you Patrick, I would rather have another C-section than to have a spoon of castor oil!
