How do people do it? The expense of renting alone is scaring me to death! Upwards of $1,000 a month for a 2-bedroom? :earseek: :faint: That's a BAD faint! Short term, of course...would be more reasonable at $890 for 12 months with pets. But still! :faint: Can anyone share experiences? Thanks!

Moving is super-expensive. I love moving and would do it every couple of years if I could, but then I'd never catch up financially. The expenses are much worse with pets. People hardly even give refunds on the deposits any more. I've just had to bite the bullet and pay off the credit cards later.

Oh, Sandy! {{{HUGS}}}

The only time I made a big move was @ 11 years ago when I got married and moved from PA to GA. I had broken my ankle the night before we moved and spent the night in the ER until 4:30am to get a cast. We were then on the road at 5:30am with 2 stinky cats, me in pain with swollen toes that looked like sausages and a brand new dh who while driving and being cursed out by me the whole way (it was his fault I broke my ankle:mad: ) looked as though he was headed to the electric chair and not into Marital Bliss!

Moving can be such a stressful event~~emotionally, physically and financially. I sooooo hope that you make it through this time as quickly as possible and that soon you'll be well on your way to your happy new life. Change can be exciting! I think you'll be well-rewarded after all this necessary yucky stuff is over!:hug: :hug: :hug:

I can't share any experiences with you, but I just wanted to wish you the best in your move. I hope everything flows smoothly for you Sandy!

Doc...I'm finding that out about the pets! I found one apartment...dates aren't jiving for when I arrive. Yuck! Would have to stay at a hotel a couple weeks. But they allow a pet up to 75 pounds. Pet rent is $35 a month. :rolleyes: And I can just imagine boarding the little guy! :earseek:

Kim...Of course it was his fault you broke your ankle! Sheesh! He should have known that. Hmmm...no marital bliss in the beginning. Uh oh! And thanks!! :)

Lisa...Thank you for the good wishes! :teeth:

Yuck! That's why I sent DH out a week ahead of me and the kitties, so the boys would have a place to live right away. We had to put them in a kennel last time we moved and I hated that. Our pet deposit is non-refundable, too, of course. :rolleyes: When we move in June, we're all going together, so it'll be a kennel again. :(
