Just a gluten free custom made cake

So far I have rang the cake hotline 3 times each time given a different answer !!

I would like a custom made cake that is gluten free for delivery to beach club on my sons birthday is that really that difficult ???

Has anybody with food allergies ever managed to order a allergy free custom made cake ???

Sorry for my mini rant but seriously starting to lose the plot here !!

I haven't ordered one personally but I know others have. I'm presumming that the boardwalk bakery would be the ones to make it as it would be quite close by. I would try and get the number and call the bakery directly. We had a cake from the GF last year and I spoke to them directly and they also gave me a direct email address and they were great with my sons nut allergy.

on the restaurant board there is a cake thread and i'm sure on there the number for tha bakery is there.

Actually, I would try going through Special Diets rather than the cake hotline. It can and has been done so you are probably getting CM's who don't know what the story is. As someone who deals with GF issues, I would be a little concerned placing an order with someone who was dubious anyway. Special Diets, if they can't take care of it for you, will at least be able to link you to the right contacts.

Oh if not I maybe able to get them to do my custom cake with gluten but send a gluten free muffin with it for my dd !!

I hate not being able to let her have the same as the boys and have even explored the possibilty of making a cake in teh villa !! My dh suggested that Flour may not be the best thing to try to take through customs

Cheers I have actually phoned special diets who directed me back to the cake hotline who put thru to someone else etc etc !!!
I have been told that they definatly do a simple allergy free sponge cake but I really wanted something special for him ! Guess ill just have to see if chef does ring me back and If somebody somewhere can actually find the right information!
As you say though it does make me nervous as dd ill be very poorly if they get it wrong

We have breakfast with stitch booked later in the holiday but really thats Cams favourite !! We are doing Cape May on dans actual birthday and becuase its thanksgiving I was lucky to get that !! ( A lovely cm on adr hotline !!)
