Has anyone had any experiences with this rental company. We are trying to find a nice rental home near Disney in December. We will be bringing our pets along also.

the first time we went to WDW we stayed w/ my father in law here. It was beautiful, big, private, clean, etc.! :flower: The year after my father in law went again with his new wife's family and he said it was not that great, they got a home that was pretty run down. :confused3 So I guess it's a hit or miss. But then again I think it's like that w/ anyplace you go. As for the pets :paw: I'm not sure the rules just make sure w/ them that this is ok. I know that the place we are staying next year (Alexander holiday homes)doesn't allow them. Good Luck. :sunny:

We used aaadreamhomes last October. I booked a 3bd/2ba condo in Windsor Palms. When we arrived we had been upgraded to a 3bd/3ba townhouse at Windsor Palms. After a 2- day drive from Maine, we arrived late around 7 in the evening (due to a major traffic accident in NC). We were thrilled when we walked into the townhouse until we realized it hadn't been cleaned. Beds were unmade, dirty towels in the bathrooms, dishes in the sink etc... Got on the phone and they offered us a house or we could stay in the dirty townhouse for the night and they would send someone over the next day to clean.

We opted for the house. We had to go back to their offices on 192 and get the keys out of their broken lock box (another fun story) and then find the house with minimal directions. We finally found it and walked thru the front door around 10pm. We had been up since 4am that morning.

We were located in the Indian Pointe subdivision at least 20 to 30 minutes from the parks ( don't believe the "10 minutes from the parks" line.)
The house was ok. At least it was CLEAN!!! The living room furniture was well "lived in" with a couple of rips in the sofa and extremely uncomfortable. The rest of the house was fine. The pool was great. We could of used more towels. We had 5 adults in our party. I had to do a load of towels every other day.

We still had a wonderful 10 day vacation. If I had to do it all over again, I would rent from an owner or a management company who shows you pictures of the exact house you are renting. When we went, pets were not allowed in any of the condos, townhouses or homes. I would check that out with aaadreamhomes.

This link has rentals that allow pets http://www.orlandovillas.com/pet-friendly-villas.aspx

Sorry your stay was so dismal. Many of the homes are really located much closer. Here is a map to show you where some are located so you know where to look if that is what you are looking for. I can not believe they gave you a dirty home that is just nasty. I think them expecting you might really stay in some one else's bed is just gross.

Using a management/rental company adds SEVERAL hundred dollars to your costs for a condo or villa. Unless you are so strapped for time that you cannot possible search through the many excellent places at vrbo.com or orlandovillas.com or any similar site, I would stay away from them.

When mousesavers and allearsnet used to recommend certain management companies (mousesavers now recommends against all vacation home rentals for some very silly reasons) I looked into booking from them. A four bedroom home in Emerald Island booked through a company such as this was $500 more for the same week than one in the same development booked directly through the owner.

Wehn you rent direct form an owner you know WHICH EXACT PROPERTY you are getting and you see pictures of it. You also have someone who is DIRECTLY accountable for any problems -- the property owner. And, IMHO, you are less likely to have problems because I would guess pool home oweners who use a management company to book for them do not really care to be involved in a daily basis in their property.

Just my two cents!

We only paid $70. per night when we booked with aaadreamhomes last year. It came to $784. with tax for 10 nights.

I totally agree with Mainebound concerning having possibly fewer problems when dealing directly with the owner, but not always. Friends of mine booked thru an owner and they also had problems.

Even when you book with Disney or any hotel there may be problems as has been mentioned on these boards many times over. There are no guarantees in life. So as I said in my previous post we still had a great vacation.

You are so right Baileybelle -- it is always possible to get those unpleasant surprises. That's why I personally would not rent a home or condo direclty from an owner unless they had a track record in writing of past guests, or unless I had more than email contact (some phone conversations, for example) with the owner. Beofre we rented our vacation home I directly emailed one of the guests who had entered a positive comment on the online guest book.

There is one direct from owner website, orlandovillas.com, and its sister sites, which is run by a very nice family who "verifies" all of the listings, meaning they make sure the owner actually owns the property by checking city records. But more important than the "verification", which is pretty minimal, is that the owners on this list seem to have formed a "virtual" community and they look out for one another and feel a real pride in maintaining certain standards. You can tell this on the discussion boards there. So I would feel confident renting from that website without seeing past guests' comments.

I don't think my reasons for declining to recommend vacation home rentals on MouseSavers.com are "silly" at all. I specifically mention that some villa rentals may provide good deals. However, they are not without their risks, and PARTICULARLY when renting direct from the owner. Want examples? Look no further than this very board:

All I'm saying is, buyer beware.
