Has anyone had any luck with placing a room only reservation thru disney with a AAA discount and then adding tickets? I see people are doing this with Room only pins, just wondering if anyone had done it with AAA

We have booked a couple of room-only with Disney with a AAA discount and we've either bought tickets at the AAA office for a discount, or just bought the tickets at check-in. No reason to add them and make a package and have to pay it all off 45 days in advance.

Can't do it. You can book a room only with the AAA discount and buy tickets separately through Disney directly. But if you want to "add" tickets and perhaps the dining plan, you must do it through a AAA travel agent.

The difference is that Disney sends out the PINs and controls the booking. For AAA, there are different rules because there are two different companies involved. Why they did it this way, I don't know, but they did.

Yes, you can book a room only reservation with Disney using a AAA discount as long as rooms are available. You can then purchase tickets thru Disney, AAA, Undercover Tourist etc. If you want to add dining then you need to add tickets to the package as well. Hope that makes sense.
