Is it worth joining AAA just for the resort discounts if we'll probably never use it any other time?

We bought it last year just for the resort discount, and it paid for itself right there. Then we ended up using it quite a bit! We've gotten discounts on hotel rooms, we've used the towing, and we've gone there for quite a few other things as well.

The basic membership is plenty! We only got the plus because DH was driving an old car at the time and we wanted the extra towing. Good thing we got it, because we used all of his services!

I think it is great too. If you take road trips you can call and order a Trip Tik - they will do a flip map with the best route, note any constuction, show you exit numbers and then include the book of their participating hotels for each state you pass through. The book lists hotels by city with rating and ammenity information, as well as area restaurants and lists of area attractions. If you have mobile internet you may not use that too often, but I love it!!

If your car ever needs to be towed, a jumpstart or you run out of gas, you'll need AAA. I only pay $75 a year.

I think the towing alone is worth it. And then there's the jumpstart in case you need it. Oh, and the discounts don't hurt either.

Definitely worth joining. I have been a member for several years and never regretted it. Not only do you get hotel room discounts at Disney, but so many other non-Disney discounts as well.

Almost every hotel offers some kind of AAA discount, other theme parks usually have AAA discounts, Hertz car rentals have AAA discounts, many restaurants have discounts, even the place we take our car to get fixed has AAA discount. It is well worth the price and you can get the basic membership and still get all the discounts. The more expensive memberships mainly have better towing options. Our membership pays for itself every year just with hotel discounts.

Thanks everyone. Guess I'm off to sign up. Dh informed me last night he thinks the value resorts are tacky and garish (aren't they supposed to be??) and he wants to stay at POFQ when we go in Sept. which is almost double the price. I'm praying for a good code to come in my email. I read on the resort board someone got a AAA discount for POFQ at $111 a night. That's better at least.
