Received an offer for 13 months AAA for $60+ & 14 months if on credit card (but cancel anytime). We are DVC members & 2x/yr trips to WDW via car. Thinking about staying at Universal one night next trip & looks like AAA is the only discount. For those of you w/AAA, what other "perks" do you use & is it worth it? Have extended warranty on 1 vehicle that incld roadside asst & pay $3/6months for it on the other vehicle thru insurance. I am always one for a "deal" ....kids say, "where does mom have a coupon for" before we ever eat out.:rotfl:

Any thoughts???
Thanks!

Aside from the obvious road service (which we use plenty having a couple of older cars) you can get 20% off at Payless Shoes, 30% off at Reebok, discounts on movie tickets, drivers ed classes, and several retailers- I hear that Earl of Sandwich at DTD also offers a AAA discount, though I havent tried it myself, but will the next time we are at WDW.
AAA offers discounted rates for mortgages, auto loans, even student loans, but we havent gone this route as yet.
I love having it and think its definitely worth it. Hope that helps!

I buy a membership to AAA every year just for Universal Studios. I have always received a good discount on the room AND almost every store and restaurant in Universal gives you a 10% discount if you show them your AAA card. That adds up. I think the only thing I didn't receive a discount on was the stroller rental there.

Added bonus is the regular AAA benefits for your car, but if you are going to Universal, it is worth it. Even if you cancel it after the trip.

I have received AAA room discounts for Disney also, but not if I was buying a package. Hope this is helpful!

I agree with the previous posters. I use AAA when booking ANY hotel, not just Disney or Universal, the savings truly do add up over the course of the year. AS was mentioned, the discounts at Universal are great, I saved quite a bit on food and souveniers. You also get discounts at Hard Rock Cafes worldwide and attraction tickets at various places like Sea World and Dollywood. One thing I really liked was that when your child turns 15 they can receive a free membership, which comes in handy if they find themselves with someone that does not have AAA and needs assistance. I feel it's well worth the $120 per year I pay for muself, hubby and (now) 17 year old.

I have had AAA for years and I think the most important thing you need to do to get the most out of the card is don't be afraid to ask about AAA discount for every purchase you make. You would be shocked at how many establishments take AAA. We have not used the road side service for the last three years but the discounts have always paid for the subscription.

One tow and it's paid for. I would want it if we drove anywhere long distance. I've had them jump my car and lots of tows before I traded in my Windstar! We have used it for maps, Kings Island, Zoo tickets, Dollywood tickets and AAA driving school coming up for DD so she can get her temps. I am thinking they should have Sea World tickets, but don't see them on the website.

I too use it for travel but most recently had my car battery die. AAA came to my vehicle with the battery and installed it for $30 cheaper than me buying the battery at the store and still having to do the labor. It happened late at night so I left the car and went home and priced out batteries figuring we would buy one in the morning. Glad I checked AAA first.

don't forget the lock outs! I have a bad habit of always locking my keys in my car! Thank goodness for AAA! But love it for the discounts. I have not had to use the towing, thank goodness, but I won't go without it.

I think the membership pays for itself with the peace of mind you have knowing you have it  In the past two years we've used AAA for: two flat tires, dead battery, ran out of gas (long story :)), tow service, travel planning services, discount theme park tickets, and hotel discounts. We love AAA :thumbsup2

I don't know if I get my money's worth from AAA but it's good for peace of mind if nothing else. I haven't had to use it for my car at all, but my husband has called them several times for a dead battery (his car has some wiring issues, I think!)

I also use it for hotel discounts but you have to be careful there because it's not always the cheapest rate.

We had roadside assistance through the car dealership where we got our oil changed... they give it to you for free when you go there. But let me tell you this... that service stinks so badly that the dispatcher, who was very apologetic because they have like NO trucks during "off-hours" (evening commute), recommended we get AAA. I already had a membership, but we didn't have one on my husband, so I called for him and got him signed up and AAA had a guy there within the hour, whereas the "free" service said it would probably be 2-3 hours.

You get what you pay for...
