AAA vs Other

With WDW's increased attendance and apparent slowdown in codes/special offers it seems the tone of posts has gone in favor AAA currently versus the last few years. Having used AAA/other TA's in the past, we have had to be an active advocate (with a lot of help from the DIS board posts) to get the best deals and the most magic. Our Thanksgiving CBR trip (18 family members) has us wanting the best price ( 7 packages/no dining) out of the gate. Thoughts, opinions, advice?

AAA, because of its size, has great bargaining power with Disney, and I believe AAA is the largest seller of Disney besides the Walt Disney Travel Company itself.

This bargaining power allows AAA to offer discounted rooms when other TA's are limited to working with what WDTC/CRO has to offer. There is a set limit of AAA rooms though.

As you stated, with increased attendance and no discounts being released by Disney, booking AAA is your best bet to get a discount.

If you were able to guarantee 10 or more rooms, you'd be able to get a group discount with Disney, but that would probably still be in the neighborhood of what AAA would be offering.
