AAA vs Codes

I have a AAA rate on hold and I e-mailed my TA who did my last trip to Disney. She was really great but the last few weeks she was moving and had been MIA. So I have the AAA rate on hold and asked her what her rate would be. She gave me a quote of $228 higher than AAA.

But she said that when the codes come out that the discount with the codes will be less than the AAA rate. I don't know what to do. Will the AAA agent apply the code? I don't think she's knowledgeable about codes but my TA is.

I'm so confused! I don't know what to do. Right now I haven't booked anything but there are 6 families going with us. Our AAA TA has been so helpful and nice but if my TA can get us a better rate then maybe I should do that.

What happends when the codes come out? Do you rebook through Disney or another TA yourself? Do you call AAA and have them apply the code instead of the AAA rate? How does that work? I've never done this myself. I've always had the TA worrying about when the codes come out and not had to worry about it myself. Also is there a penalty through AAA if you cancel?

Sorry for so many questions. Any help is appreciated.

When are you going? If it's value season, that's 20% off moderates! That's a huge savings with AAA.

Codes usually don't come out, if at all, until 2-3 months before you have to book. I'd just book with the AAA code.. it's a good deal

I would book with AAA and watch the boards to see when a code comes out and have the AAA apply it to your trip instead of the AAA discount. I did this last trip and it worked out for me really good. This trip I am going in August so hopefully free dining will be back again like it was this year. If not I already have my discount.

I asked my AAA ta about what would happen if a code came out (probably not as likely with us going in June...) and he said it would be applied to my AAA rate at that time - I think they're the best way to go.
