AAA to code?

We are planning on going to DW the week after Thanksgiving this year. If we go ahead and book with AAA and a better deal comes out later with a Disney code, what are our options?

If you book the room only with AAA, then you canl get a full refund up to a day or two before your vacation. I can't remember the specifics, as it's been a few months. But in Oct I did just that. I had the AAA rate for room only, then switched to th AP rate when it was available. I think the rules are different if it's a package thru AAA, tho.

This is what I did last year. I booked a room only at the AAA rate through Disney. The reason I do this is it is the most flexible option with the least cancellation penalties. I think you can cancel up until about two weeks out with no penalty at all. Then I waited for the deals. When one comes along, I then book it through my AAA agent and cancel the first one. No problem. If no deal comes along and I want the full package, I'll just book it through AAA.

The rules are quite different for packages. You have a AAA cancellation fee in addition to Disney cancellation fees. Last year those fees started at 45 days out. So it's not as flexible as a room only.
