AAA reservation question

I have a reservation on hold with a AAA agent as follows-

2 nights camping at Ft. Wilderness
4 Day Magic Your Way Base Tickets (3 adults, 2 children)

I have been told that this itinerary fully qualifies for AAA perks including-

Diamond discount card
Diamond parking
Enhanced Fastpass for all 4 days of the MYW base ticket (even though we only have 2 nights of lodging)

Does this sound right to everyone?? I was under the impression that you had to book a certain level of resort to qualify for the enhanced fastpass.

My current plan is to pay for the campsite and let it sit. Basically, I'll be getting the AAA benefits for $80.

Any thoughts would be welcome.

Thanks!

I thought the "enhanced fastpass" only worked at Disneyland? Maybe I am wrong. On the others, yes you should get all of that.

(Be prepared to be yelled at. I think what you are doing is fine, but there are at least a few posters here who view the fact that you are paying for something you won't use a "stealing")

That said, unless there really is a fast pass benefit the other two are not worth $80!

Wow, I've talked to the AAA TA about this many times and I'm still being told I'll get enhanced fastpass at WDW. I've had a really hard time getting info on this feature. Can anyone else confirm that it's available only at Disneyland?

I was going ask what enhanced Fastpass entails.

Chris,
I did a search on the DIS, there are NO reports of Enhanced Fastpass being used anyplace but Disneyland. I wouldn't count on it for WDW. You might go to the resorts board and ask there, they have lots of folks that actually use AAA travel and none of them have ever posted about getting and "enhanced Fastpass"

Based on what I have read over the years on the DIS your average AAA TA is clueless about their Disney product so it doesn't surprise me that they keep telling me you get it, you probably do get it, the question is where does it work....

For those that asked, as I understand it an Enhanced Fastpass overrides the normal wait times. So instead of having to wait a few hours to get another fast pass you can just run from attraction to attraction getting them.

I have booked 3 trips (2 down, 1 to go) with AAA to WDW and no enhanced fast pass. You will get the Diamond Parking Pass (this alone is worth booking through AAA if you plan to use a car) and the discount card.

Good luck!

Be careful re AAA "Discount Rates". I reserved a room last March for the 20% off rooms from Dec.4-9. I went in yesterday to convert it to a package at the "AAA Discount Rate" and it came out to $200 MORE than on the Disney website. Same date, same tickets, same dining plan. I called them today and got a major runaround. The TA I worked with said she "didn't know why" it was more and that I was the THIRD client who had had that difficulty. If that was the case. you would think THEY would find out WHY. But all they care about is getting their commission. When I really pressed them for the reason, they said I was getting some "perks" like free parking (can't use it because we are using Disney Transportation) and discounts on meals (can't use it because we are on the dining plan---which THEY sold me!) I now have a complaint lodged with the BBB. Don't make the same mistake I did in believing that a AAA Discount Rate means you are actually getting a discount. You're not!

Mary SB I would call and talk to another AAA agent or have you already booked. If booked I would unbook! Sounds like your TA messed up. Use another one or make the ressie yourself with AAA rate thru Disney. I know I saved a couple of hundred. I checked rates before I booked. Good luck

Now... someone can jump all over me if I am wrong (and there are professionals on this board for just that purpose) but my understanding is that AAA travel agents do not work on commission...

I think what you DO get for this is access to EMH for three days: check-in day, second day, and check-out day.

You keep posting this and your failure to be an informed consumer is NOT AAA's fault. (And everyone knows I don't like them)

You waited until A MONTH prior to try to change to a package and then seem surprised you can't get a discount? There is NO guarntee of discount...... You had a discount on the room but when you changed to a package A MONTH in advance you didn't get a discount? That is not a surprise. Also, AAA does not guarantee the lowest rates... you should have shopped around.

The fact that you didn't know can't use the "perks" does NOT make them something worthy of complaing to the BBB about.
