AAA rates what's the deal?

I called yesterday seeking a AAA rate (room only of course) for late February/early March. ( I called Disney Reservations)

Every single rate I was quoted was exactly $1.00 under rack rate. I tried WL, CB, and CS. I tried switching dates around you name it, still $1.00 under rack rate.

Are AAA rates not out yet for that time period, sold out, or was it just a glitch?

Some one please help!

Hi - I called Sunday night and was told no AAA for 2005 yet...called Monday and got some for AKL next May. It was 10% off. I was told no AAA rates at all for any of my 8 nights at Poly...I have a feeling everything has not been released yet...keep trying!

AAA rates are usually out 1 year in advance. My bet is all the rooms are already booked.

I was able to get AAA rates for GF for our trip July, 2005 but it took me three calls to get it. The first two times I was told there were no AAA rates for GF lagoon view during our time period. THe third time they magically appeared! Keep trying!

I too was able to get AAA rates just last week for our Jan '05 stay at AKL Savannah view. We got 15% off the quoted rack rate. This is my first stime booking with codes and I'm finding it quite exciting! On our first visit, just this past January, hubby did all the booking and was shocked when I told him how much we could've saved. Keep trying!

I just made my reservations for May 26-June 5th, and the agent said the AAA discounts were not yet available. She even checked twice for me. She was so sweet that I thought I'd just call back later to try someone else.

What she DID say, however is that "AAA rates are always available. You don't have to worry about them running out." Is that true?

I called back today on our reservations for May 14-21 and got the AAA rate. Maybe it's the different CMs?

Last week I made my reservations at Pop Century for both March and December 2005. I got AAA discounts for both trips.

I booked our May 2005 trip two weeks ago and got AAA rate for all but my 1st day told sold out on May 7. Here's a tip. The CM originally told me sold out for all my dates. Thankfully he was an experience CM. He began searching day by day and found rate for all but one. Good luck!

I just booked the poly with AAA rate for July05.

Booked CSR for Jul 05. 15% discount. CM first said they weren't out yet. When I told her I believe they are out because I know people who booked it she put me on hold and then came back and said yes she fouind them.

Missypie - I don't believe your agent is giving you correct information. AAA is out already for 2005 and they do sell out. That is if your booking thru WDW anyway.

Unfortunately Passholder rate was not available but I got AAA rate - $100 off rack rate at Caribbean each for 10/7-10/11?

It was one of the folks at Disney reservations that told me that AAA rates don't run out. I didn't believe her from what I've read here, but didn't really want to argue with her about it ("The folks on the DIS say they DO run out!")

Okay, I just called back. We are splitting our stay between YC and CR. I was able to get the AAA discount for the CR but not the YC. That sort of makes sense, because the YC portion includes Memorial Day weekend. It looks like the discount at CR is 10%. So with the AAA discount at the CR I've saved $211.55.

I'll call back later and ask them to check day by day for our 5 days at the YC. Maybe I can get it for some of the days (even though the lady I talked to said it wasn't available.)

I'm sure I'll be making lots more calls in the next 9 months in search of discounts.

(BTW, the latest reservationist kept calling me "dear" which was pretty patronizing since she sounded a lot younger than me.)

We just booked last week @BCV with a AAA rate from WDW. CM said they were not out yet but ask him to check again since I had been on the Dis and sure enough he found a rate.

2005 "room only rates" through AAA are out! There are only a certain number of rooms at each resort that can be booked at this rate. When the total number of rooms at this rate are filled that is it unless there are cancelations. It is the same way for AP rates. So, yes they do indeed sell out. However, keep checking to see if anything at your resort opens up. Just because the answer is no today doesn't mean it will still be no tomorrow, next week ot next month. We have rooms as BWI and the Poly booked at AAA for mid September 2005. Of course, when the AP rates become available I will be changing my reservation over if possible!
