aaa rates on universal hotels

can anyone tell me approx. how much one would save with an aaa rate for a universal hotel? i am looking into hard rock for next fall and have just read on these boards that the entertainment books no longer offer discounts, is that current info? not trying to be a cheapskate but this will be the first time we will be staying on universal property and the trip is getting a bit pricey!

AAA savings varies. Lately it has been the best discount offered. Anything can change by next fall so its best to keep an eye out. Also consider purchasing one premium annual pass. It can be used to hotel discounts (when available) as well as dining and shopping discounts. I recently returned using AAA and the rate without was $250 a night, My AAA rate was $183

I can't tell you about next fall, but I can tell you about the late June rates...It was $191 vs. $239 (with the stay and play package) at RPR. The HRH had a small discount, $289 to $269 I think. I ended up picking PBH and the rate was $239 vs. $299 for a gardenview room. Of course, I have to add in the $180 for passes that would have some with the higher price. If you have more than 2 people, the stay and play promotion might be better.

The stay and play promotion only gives you passes for 2 adults, I believe.
