I just called CRO to change my existing ressie, which is a basic pkg. plan, 10 nights at POR from April 16-26, 2003, and those dates are blocked off for AAA discount rates. Huge bummer. I know, its Easter week, but that shouldn't punish the ones that want to go that week. I guess I'll just have to wait now for the DC discount, whenever that will be.

I know what you mean. If anyone has any information on this subject it will be greatly appreciated. I am taking my dd the same week due to her spring break and for her birthday and I was going to book with the DC rates when they come out and pray for codes. Does anyone know if they usually come out with discounts for Easter break season????? I hope so

Codes and discounts are offered to help fill rooms when bookings are low, and are not likely to be offered during Easter Week or any other very busy periods.

We run into the same problem. I know they say it is because it is a busy time, but so is $th of July, and we had no problem getting a discount, and Christmas also. I know for Christmas the discounts expire on the 25th, but hey I could make it there in time for Easter if they expired on Easter. LOL

I don't know if this happens all the time, but I do know that both times we went during Easter week we could not get ANY discounts at all, AP, Disney Club, etc. It is a very busy time of year and discounts will be few IMHO. Prehaps more discounts will come out as time gets closer (due to room vacancy), but I wouldn't really expect any this far in advance.

Just my little ole 2 cents.

Discount rates (or lack there of) isn't about punishing people who have to go in peak season. It's about filling up rooms and making a profit. No successful business discounts its products and services if they are selling briskly at full price. It's disappointing to have to pay rack rates for on site lodging, but Easter and Christmas are very popular times to go - those are the two busiest times of the year in the parks. If those are the only time(s) you can go, you MAY have to resign yourself to paying full price for on site accomodations.

That said, even though there aren't AAA rates for Easter, there may be other discounts available as your dates approach. Good luck!

Thanks everyone. I guess we picked a doozie of a week to go, but have no choice as I have a son who's a freshman in high school coming up and I'm already taking him out for 2 days for this trip, a whole week is out of the question to go in value season. Oh well, gotta bite the bullet and cross my fingers for the DC to come through!
