I'm just wondering what kind of deals people have been getting with AAA. My neighbor was able to get an amazing rate of $189 a night for around the same time, but I can't seem to find that rate. I think she called and did the whole thing over the phone. I'm not sure, but that's my next step. Interested to know what others have done.

You can't get AAA rates online through Universal or Loews. You either have to call them or call AAA or check the AAA website. People have reported getting lower AAA rates through calling Universal directly.

Just booked two nights at the Royal Pacific (8/21-8/22) with the annual pass rate. Got a standard water view king for 169 a night. Wanted to stay at the beginning of our trip but they had no discounts before 8/21.

I think it depends on when your friend is going and for how many nights. I am going for 8 nights at the end of august and so the deal universal had on their website was cheaper than the AAA rate (at least that's what the universal hotel reservation center person said). Universal has a deal that if you stay 3 nights or more the rest of the stay is much cheaper.

When I had to redo my dates for June I wasn't able to get AAA rates for a room only, but when I did a package I was able to get the AAA rate.

I called the hotel direct and got the $189 rate for a standard room using CAA (AAA in Canada).

I had CAA up until about 6 months ago, I am considering weather it is worth getting the basic plan to save on the hotel room at Royal Pacific or Portofino, do you show your CAA or AAA card at check in or could I use my mothers card? Are discounts available on Disney World tickets with the CAA card

I didn't have to give my CAA number when I made the ressie. She said to be sure I had the card with me on checkin.

With regards to WDW, I always found their deals/promos better than CAA. Mind you on our last trip, I used Airmiles to buy one park pass and CAA discount to buy the others. We got an awesome bounceback on a room only so tickets were going to be separate.
