Does anyone know the rate of discount for AAA? I know it's 10%. Is that for value, mods and Deluxe?

Thanks

is it worth getting an AAA membership to save money on the resort? We are starting to plan a trip for just after Thanksgiving. Yup I know its fairly last minute but thats me.

The cost of AAA is $65 I think...I'm not quite sure because I have my children on my card too.
But I just booked the POP for 11/30-12/5 and I saved $99.45 over the rack rate so I think it is a great deal.

We are going to Disney in April, I haven't been in 9 years, so this is all pretty new to me and so mind boggling. :cheer2: I have been talking with a travel agent from (I think) Mouse Savers. I have so many questions, i feel like a pest, so I"m going to ask here. With AAA I thought you just booked a room and applied the discount. Then I found out there are only a certain number of rooms for discounts, once they are gone you have to pay full price. But then I was wondering about the discount, it's it the same percentage every year? Does it fluctuate from year to year? I also read the 50's building is the better building (at Pop C) because it's closer to food court and buses, but you have to pay extra for those rooms because they are preferred? There is a catch to everything you want to do! It's frustrating!!

And then tickets for the parks, I saw on my AAA newspaper a 6 day hopper pass was $240 and at Disney store it's $235. So would you combine the room and the tickets together? OH, I guess not if travel agent is booking the trip for me, but I realy don't know, any advice? And then to add on another day it's only $1, so we'll probably do that. :wave2:

I think AAA is sometimes 10% - 15% - 20% depending on resort and time of year so you can save considerably. You can get package deals with the discount, not just room discounts, I believe.........

If I were you, plan the entire trip through this agent. Booking exactly what you want. Then call AAA and ask them, and see what you save.

Happy planning......

AAA has room only rates and then there are AAA package deals. I was told the AAA room only rates (and by that I mean the room only - not part of any package) can be booked by any travel agent. Even the disney specialist travel agents. But if a package deal comes out then only a AAA Travel agent can book the package with a AAA room rate as part of it, or only a AAA Travel agent can book any AAA package deals.

Now my experience with AAA agents is that they don't proactively check for new discount codes for you and apply them. You have to stay on top of it and call them to do it.

When we went to WDW last year we used Small World and they were great. We started off with a room only reservatin. The agent we had called me when the Free Dining Plan offer came out and told me that she made a reservation for me with the Free Dining. If I wanted it (which of course we did) she would cancel my room only reservation. It was fantastic service because I didn't have to keep watching for codes. She did it all for us. She even called and made PS for Cinderella's Castle for us.

And, IMHO, the AAA card is definately worth it for the discounts you get at WDW and at other places too.
