AAA rate question?

Hi,

I have a question about AAA rates. I would be traveling with my BF who has AAA. I don't have AAA. Can we show his AAA card at check in to get the rate? Does the ressie have to be in his name?

If so, can I call it in or do they have to actually talk to him. (He hates planning and calling places to book things so I am trying to avoid having him have to do so).

Anyone have any expereince with this?

Also, would the payments have to be in his name? Usually when we go, we put our cash into a "vacation" checking account with a visa checkcard attached to it. That account is in my name.

Just ask the CM when you make your reservations. When I called and asked for AAA rates, they didn't even ASK if I was a AAA member, much less ask for a number. I think that my printed confirmation says that I'm supposed to show a AAA card at check in.

This makes sense. I imagine that some people join AAA only after they are sure they can get the discount. Think if you lived in Manhattan and didn't even own a car...I saved $363 with the AAA discount...that would be worth joining for!
