hi, i'm trying to lock in dates for disney world, but at this time my brother is not 100% sure he's coming. he has the aaa card. what happens if i lock in my hotel and he ends up not coming with me? any thoughts? thanks!

If you can't prove you have a valid AAA membership they will charge you full price for the room.

Depending on how much you save on the room...it might be worth it for you to get a membership, if he does back out...

I booked last night at rull rack rate at Pop Century. I'm hoping for a discount code that is for everyone tol become available in a couple of weeks. If not, I plan on joining AAA to get some sort of discount.

hey tuffcookie,
you booked a room at the rack rate, if you end up getting aaa do you just present it at the hotel, or do you have to call back and change the reservation?

You will have to call back and have the discount applied to your current reservation.

Be aware that if you booked online you will not be able to call and have the discount applied. I made that mistake and went through a headache and a half having to cancel the first reservation, wait for a credit to be sent to creditcard (10 days) and then re-booking the aaa rate. You also can't get the AAA rate w/dining plan through disney reservations, that has to be done through a AAA travel agent.

The problems were worth it, we saved over $300 on 7 nights w/dining plan. i would buy the AAA membership just to save the $.

Also be aware that there are only a certain number of rooms are available at the AAA rate. Even if you have an existing regular (rack) reservation at a particular resort, there is no guarantee that there will be any rooms available at the AAA rate should you deicide to switch your reservation from regular rate to AAA rate.

If it was me I'd book the room at the AAA rate as soon as you have your dates/resort all set (instead of booking at rack rate and then trying to get a AAA rate later).

Just my $0.02

this is true. i joined aaa today and though there were rooms left at pop, there were none left at the aaa rate, so i'm off to AS sports.
