How close is the AAA diamond lot at the parks, are they worth parking in? We will be staying at ASMov with bus transporation just wondering with a stroller and pregant wife if driving would be easier? Thanks in advance for any help.

AAA Parking is closer than normal parking. However, for the Magic Kingdom, you still have to go from the TTC via monorail or boat. Epcot and MGM have very nice spots near the tram stops. My wife loves it when I drive. She cannot stand crowded buses. The buses can get crowded at times, but I have NEVER seen an expecting woman or one with a small child remain standing for very long. We gentlemen usually do our duty and offer a seat.;)

We have used AAA parking a few times and found it to be nice...The lots are less crowded and closer...it' also easier to remember where you left your car...have a great trip!!

It depends on when you plan to visit as to whether or not you can even use the AAA lot. I suspect during peak times, you cannot. We were unable to park there recently after Easter due to it being used solely for overflow of the handicapped lot. We had to park where they told us except during our nighttime visits to the parks.

Go for the AAA parking. Even if it's full, you'll probably be glad you have your car. They pack those busses mighty full at the end of the day, and depending on DW's tolerence level, she might feel really uncomfortable and stuffy.

Even if you do have to park further away, there are trams so she won't have to walk all the way from the car to the gate. And if she gets nauseated she's not going to want to get on a bus and endure all those stops.

Can anyone fill me in as to the particulars of the AAA lots? Are they marked, how do you find them, what do you need to park there, etc.?
thanks

I got a pass with my tickets from AAA I understand that the parking lot is close to the front of the parking area no need to ride the tram.

When you come through the parking gates they will direct you...just show them your diamond card...we always go in January and have gotten great parking...

Looking for an update on AAA Diamond parking. Trying to decide whether or not to spend a little extra money and buy passes thru AAA in order to get the parking pass. I don't plan to use it in the mornings as we are early risers and get to parks early. We plan to go back to the parks in the afternoon after taking a mid-day break and stay to see the evening fireworksor other entertainment. Would we be able to use the AAA pass to get a good parking spot in the afternoon? Would parking closer help us get out of the parks quicker thereby getting us to the All-Stars quicker than riding the buses. I guess the only reason we would be getting the pass would be to avoid the line for the bus ride and the bus ride back to ALL-STARS. We are going the first week in November 2001. What do you folks think?

We only used AAA diamond pass for park opening (some CM's didn't even know what diamond pass parking was at the gate) , if you didn't snag a spot for AAA parking it would fill up quickly. There aren't that many parking spots. I don't imagine any would be available by afternoon. The one for Epcot, MGM and AK are nice. But I'd rather take the bus to MK, you are let off right in front of MK. With AAA parking, it's by the handicap parking and is still a ways away, plus you still have to take the ferry boat or the monorail over to MK. Check with your AAA office, not all of them give out the parking passes with just park tickets, some of them only give them to you if you have booked a disney pkg with them. Have fun whatever you decide!!! :)

My local AAA Office says they give out the parking passes only with purchase of a AAA/Disney travel package. They say Disney Travel actually sends out the passes. Can someone give the address of an office which procides them when you buy passes only? I am a DVC member and am not interested in a package

Thanks

What you receive when you buy passes only through AAA is really a certificate which allows you to park in the AAA lot, and of course if you are a guest at WDW, the parking is free. That is what I used which was a white in color certificate which gave me privileges at the AAA parking lot (if space available). If your local AAA isn't providing this with your passes, I would try calling the main office for your region to complain. I don't see why AAA in one place would have a different policy on this issue than another.

My in-laws purchased their park hoppers at AAA. I told them to ask for the parking pass and they received one. I think they said they had to buy more than one, i.e. you couldn't get it with just one park hoppers. Will be trying it next week and will post how it works.

In almost every case the bus will be faster. Also, remember that the AAA diamond lot is NOT guaranteed, and fills up quickly. DO'nt expect to park there if you don't arrive early in the AM.
