AAA parking pass

Just read this thread and I have a question: I already paid for my trip via a TA (not AAA). I will be lugging stroller and renting a car at WDW. The idea of parking close to the park entrance sounds wonderful with kids and stroller and August weather. But can I get a AAA diamond parking pass if I just show them a memership card or I have to book a package with AAA? Can I buy one and how much? Any help is appreciated!

You have to book through AAA. I have one but we will not be using it as we will be taking DME and not renting a car! The pass came in a voucher book that was specific to the package booked.

Thanks Marie for answering my question. So there is an expiry date on your parking pass? I see that you will be at POP in August, so do we (Aug 25-Sep 6).

It expires at the end of December. It has some blackout dates on it but those are 1/29-1/31, 2/12-2/19, 4/1-4/11 and 6/27-8/22, we will be there 8/23 through 8/28!

Just confirming that yes, AAA spaces are limited - we drove over to AK at around noon one day and there were none left.

We've used the pass at Epcot, and while you're definitely in one of the front rows closest to the entrance, depending on which end of the row you end up on, you could still have quite a hike to the gate ahead of you - and trams do not run there.

Definitely learning a few things from this thread. We just bought annual passes through AAA but did not receive anything relating to a parking pass when we received the AP vouchers in the mail - is it possible to still obtain a parking pass? I would imagine that it differs by AAA office - ours is in Tampa. Also, I never knew about the free parking if staying onsite. We will be going straight to one of the parks before checking in to our hotel onsite - how would the parking fee be handled at that point? Would we just show our reservation? Thanks!

Check with your office. Around here you actually have to book a package to get the parking pass (which I believe is how they're "supposed" to do it), but I've read other posts that say people asked their AAA office and they were happy to give them out. May depend on your particular AAA office.... and who you talk to. ;)
