I just bought our Park Tickets from AAA. They included a parking pass. Is there special parking for AAA members?

Thanks,

Each park and the TTC has a section for AAA! Just show your voucher when you arrive and they'll point you in the right direction!

The AAA parking area is usually one of the first rows behind the handicapped parking. If you plan on driving your personal vehicle to a park, it is a nice perk to be able to park close enough that you don't have to wait on the tram to take you to the parking area. We usually drive to DHS and after Fantasmic, we can be driving out of the parking lot by the time the masses get to their cars.

Do you have to have a "voucher" from AAA, or can you just use a AAA card?
If so, what do the vouchers cost?

You get the voucher free when you book a package through AAA Travel.

Does anyone have one of the AAA 2009 passes? What color are they? My friend got one that was black and white but ours in the past have always been in color. Just wondering if she got the wrong thing.

Just got my Parking Pass and it is Black and white also. When you go thru the parking gates they will have colored lined painted on the ground. I believe the blue line goes to handicap parking and the red line goes to the AAA parking. You just follow the right line and it takes you straight there. The biggest advantage of this is when you have a stroller or 2. You get them out of your car and walk right to the gate. I always hated taking the tram with strollers

Ok, thanks for the info about it being black and white. I swear it looks like something somebody printed out on a black and white printer and not anything "official". It does have some sort of raised imprint with the letters AAA on it so I guess it is legit.

And I have to agree about the strollers. Even when we would park in the main parking lot we would end up walking instead of taking the tram because it was such a pain to fold the stroller.

Just a couple of extra trhings I have heard about this.

1 - Remember you still have to pay for parking if you are not staying a a disney resort. This just gets you the 'closer' parking.

2 - Not all the AAA parking is as close as you might imagine. Apparently at some of the parks (can't remember which) it is still better to park in regular parking if you arrive early enough.

3 - the AAA spaces are limited, and can run out early - which takes you back to number 2 above - if you are there early you may still be better off using normal parking lot if the front rows are still empty.

You mean to tell me people that are on this forum are still arriving after the park opens? What up wit dat?

I always use the AAA parking pass and it is a godsend.

We used the AAA parking pass in July. Ours was mostly yellow and very colorful.
We asked at the parking booth where to go and at each park we had to follow the BLUE lines. Once you get closer you will see a person that points you to the row for AAA or there is just a sign board on the ground that says AAA diamond parking with an arrow.
We were at the parks early so never had a problem finding a spot. I can say that we left the parks most days at 2 or 3 and the row for AAA was never full, especially AK and MK which we did on 2 different days. I loved having it.
The most walking we did from the AAA parking row to the entrance was at DHS. Hope this helps and wish I was back there!

We drive down from PA, and having the AAA Diamond Parking is awesome. This year, even though we are getting APs, we bought MYW tix through AAA to get the parking pass (we don't need to buy a package w/ our AAA office). We'll upgrade the MYW tix to APs at the parks, but we'll still have the Diamond Parking for this year's trips!

I'm glad somebody posted that you still have to buy a parking pass in addition to this voucher - I did not realize this...

Yes = think its $13 dollars a day - the AAA parking pass just allows you to park in special spaces coser to turnstiles. Parking is free to Disney Hotel guests though

A person at AAA told my sister that even though she was staying at a WDW Resort, she would have to pay for parking to use the AAA lot??? Does anyone know?? My sister said the pass says, "Does not include complimentary parking."

I just bought park tickets last week at my local AAA office and I got the preferred parking pass. It is definitely colorful; mine is not b&w.

However, my local office does not advertise they have the parking pass with just buying tickets. It is advertised for buying a package. I asked several times before I bought as well and had to ask for it after I got the tickets.

No. If she's staying in a Disney-owned resort (or the Swan, Dolphin, or Shades of Green), she does not pay to park at the parks. If she's staying on Hotel Plaza Boulevard, she pays.

The AAA voucher is only for preffered parking, not free parking - by that it means a pre-defined selection of parking spaces that are deemed by Disney to be 'better' (eg closer) than regaular parking spaces.

However you still have to pay to park if you are not staying at a Disney Resort. If you are then parking is free. Either way this voucher just gets you into the 'special' spaces, whether you pay to park or not.

Just read this thread and I have a question: I already paid for my trip via a TA (not AAA). I will be lugging stroller and renting a car at WDW. The idea of parking close to the park entrance sounds wonderful with kids and stroller and August weather. But can I get a AAA diamond parking pass if I just show them a memership card or I have to book a package with AAA? Can I buy one and how much? Any help is appreciated!
